I picked up this 1959 f100 from dinuba california a few weeks ago and Since I purchased I have done the following:

    Painted rims black
    whitewall tires
    flipped rear axle
3 inch sids drop axle and 2 inch tie rod extensions
    new carpet kit
    seats/visors/door panels re vinyled
    cd player and door speakers
    made blue dot tail lights

I was thinking about bagging the rear end just to have a better ride.
I am getting ready to start on some engine work and ad a new clutch

I love this truck its my first and I just wanted to share

Below are before and after pics.

I think you have a cool project going on there. That color is just is right for a period correct ride. Good luck!

Of course they are, because I owned one, and now it's gone. Same thing with my '52 Chevy, my '63 Impala, and my OT '67 Firebird.

I NEVER own these things when they climb in value.

I love. LOVE. Your truck, and it's my favorite color for these things. I miss my '60. Drove mine while living in central Kansas getting my Auto Restoration degree.

The gravity and coolness of driving down dirt roads in central Kansas in a '60 Ford p/u with a lazy thunderstorm floating by in the distance was never lost on me. Sometimes, I'd feel like pulling over to cry. BUT I DIDN'T! I SWEAR!

  13. Congrats! I think that you have done a good job with it so far. Love the stance with the wide whites.

Gilles, Did you start off with 5 or 6 leafs in the rear packs? If 6, which are left? Obviously the main leaf, but which of the rest?

Mine rides great in the front with the 3 inch drop axle kit but the back ****S!!
I bottom out constantly with the leafs under the axle I have 1 inch between frame and axle and have not had time to c notch yet. I might need to bag the rear ASAP.

ANYONE KNOW A GOOD PLACE FOR AIRBAGS IN LOS ANGELES?

I know of lords of customs and that's it

We're kind of a sentimental bunch, ain't we? Something about old dogs and old trucks that makes me that way. :D

Haha. I totally get it. This is my first cl***ic or older vehicle and driving it you feel the history. I love it so much. I'm turning it into my everyday driver..
