I want to replace my 67 mustang 8" rear with a 9" and need to ask a couple of questions.
What will be the difference in the length of the centerline of the 9" to the U joint end (In other words will my drive shaft fit) & what is the difference in the diameter of the axle tubes.
Also can anyone post on here the measurements for the 2 brackets that mount the panhard bar to the rear end( in a Total performance ***y manual).
    Thanks

Mustang 9's are hard to find but with the correct parts bolt in ..It depends what the 9 comes out of. I used the wagon 9 in. spring plates, u bolts and welded on the shock mount. The mustang 9's have smaller tubes , so the U bolt spacing was all the same and the one 4 socket air monster gun would work on the ***embly line on 6 cyl, 8's and 9's

Depends what yoke you have now as there are short and long yokes with an inch length difference as i recall, i don't have both handy. The 9" yoke for a 1310 series UJoint, same as the 8" size, is often found on 60's pickups and vans and would make it 11" (short yoke) or 12"(long yoke) from the axle centerline to the center of the UJoint.

The tube size necks from 3" down to 2 3/4" where the Ubolts sit on Mustang and Fairlane 9" housings. Other 9"s are 3" or bigger and the 8" should be 2 3/4".
