Well, has anyome had a positive experience with Haggerty? You guys are making me nervous. I have also spent about five grand on my car since I last updated my photo's and info to them. Got to get on that!

I have read here and elsewhere on the innernet that Haggerty is ALSo a good company but I have no experience with them :)

Sorry you had to find out how good they are Randy, but timely for me as my three are due for renewal next month with Grundy. I had been considering a change maybe, looks like I will stay with them.

  5. Great to see that Grundy treated you fairly and handled the claim quickly!!

I have been thinking about insuring a couple of my non-Hamb cars with them and was waiting to see how you were treated.

And you still have the 3-window to drive while you're working on the roadster as well.

Is this true that Grundy took back control of their company again after Philadelphia Indemnity took them over? I had heard that things were not the same under Philly and was starting to research alternatives. Anyone got any definitive info/confirmation?

A friend told me that he saw on TV ( one of those Saturday morning car episode shows ) that Grundy was taking everything back over as of May 21, 2012.

I was told this but have not seen it myself.

Sorry for the fire, Randy, glad Grundy came through for you. I also have 3 cars insured by Grundy and it helps put my mind to rest considering the recent situation with them. I also have heard that in May they will resume control of their collector car coverage. That's good news......Don.

Randy, I was shocked when I saw this thread when I was reading the Grundy Insurance thread started by Gary. Sorry to see your faithful companion all these years got hurt but I'm glad you'll save her and make her better than ever. I suppose you'll be driving the coupe on the All Deuces Run in a few weeks instead. Good luck on the rebuild and have a great time on the run. I promise I'll make it next year!

UPDATE on the roadster recovery :D

Been working a little on it and it is coming along nicely. While it is off the road, I decided to redo the brakes and a few other items that had a good many miles on them.

After calming down and taking the roadster apart ... I am GLAD to say that it is not hurt no where near as bad as I first thought. It will be redone and FRESH when I get the ROADSTER back on the highway. I have owned the roadster 30 plus years and it will be ready for another 30 years of enjoyment very soon :) :)

Sometimes when you get all the carnage off of the car you realize it looked worse than it is..........glad that was your outcome. Sounds like the car will be better than ever.

    That's good to hear Randy!

When my Roadster got wrecked 3-4 years ago- Grundy couldn't have been any easier to deal with. 1st adjuster they sent to look at the car was more experienced w/ exotics that hot rods. I asked for another estimator & they sent him out the next day. He met me at So Cal Speed Shop so it (the car) could go on a lift to survey damages. Estimate was nosebleed high! Grundy didn't bat an eye & cut me a check 3 days later. During dis***embly- we discovered a crack in radiator mount that was missed on appraisal- they replaced it w/ a new Walker & cut another check!
I'll never forget that phone call to Grundy on that Sunday morning. My roadster was crashed & I was a basketcase. They were calm & took care of everything- including towing to my garage 1st & then to So-Cal. Her words to me were to pick the shop of my choice- shop rate is not as important as me being comfortable with the shop doing the repairs. Her closing words to me were- "We will make every effort to restore the car to better than before." Took 4 months but didn't cost me a dime. I did have Ricklefs flame the car (for extra) after Mick Jenkens painted it.
