My shop was robbed...

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by krimsonghost, Apr 21, 2012.

  1. Sorry to her that. Work with your local police, they're usually pretty good guys, and some of them hate shitbags as much as we do. I'd like to see some 12 gauge justice here, but working inside the law can be pretty rewarding, too.

Sooo...let me get this straight...you admit on a public forum to assault and battery, theft, and a bunch of other crimes (especially if his pants were still down) over "a gallon of paint"??
...And all you gun toting, shoot at will "crime fighters"?? You cant shoot a theif when youre out to dinner with your girlfriend can you?
...And public hangings??What is this 1780?

It can happen to any of us and Im sorry it has happened to you. My shop got robbed and all of the tools and equipment were gone...Do what you can with the police, buy new locks and secure the place a little better however you want. The biggest thing~CHANGE YOUR ROUTINE REGULARLY!!
If they know what youve got, they know where you are and when...

Ok, now back to more awesome retaliation ideas!!

Sorry to hear, last Wed. someone decided to throw a rock through my front shop window. Not good to get a call from the alarm company at two in the morning.

  7. I have always hated a thief, among other factions of dirty no goodness. But thief is almost at the top of my slist to dislike.

Anyway Krimsonghost I am really sorry you got hit, I hope you do manage to salvage some of your missing stuff. I would sure put visiting all the local pawn shops on my list of things to do.

Theives around here carry "Cash for Gold" envelopes and go strickly for the jewlery boxes and leave the electronics alone(anything that will fit into a backpack) and the loot is in the mail before you discover it missing. All those places are just fencing places for the theives since unlike a pawn shop they dont have to keep a record and hold on to it, they melt it down as soon as they can.

Ya, it sucks. Been keeping an eye on craigslist. I never really have many people in my shop, cuz I usually go there to get away from anybody, and most all of my friends wouldn't know what the hell most of the stuff is anyways. So, no real idea about who could've done it. I'm thinking it's someone who noticed me working while they were driving by or something like that.

  11. Yeah, all that because he trusted $25 to someone he just met.

The HAMB thief thread has reached a new low. I imagine our comments will breed more shock and awe replies.

Ah, yes he did... what would you have done if you saw the scumbag in the Burger King?

And Don.... a gun is handy but be sure there is a lead pipe, heavy tool or other weapon found near the body. (Some cops would call it a throwdown...)

Yea but $10 worth of steak with some drugs in them will put an end to the guard dogs so never count on a dog to keep a thief out of your house !

Really sorry to hear them breaking in and stealing your tools . This shit is getting bad everywhere now since drugs is up and no jobs are around . Personally I hope you find your tools at a C/L post and you meet him someplace by himself . Then when you get your tools back take one and stick it up his ass sideways and explain how things go when some fucking , low life piece of scum shit head steals your tools that you worked very hard to buy ! Then as he screams in pain make sure you rake his face across the concrete pavement so he will not forget to pass by your street the next time he might need some money ! :D
Since the police and courts just slap them on the hands for breaking into your home and shop then steal everything you worked so hard for , we as tax paying citizens need to correct the way the courts take care of these people and just chop their hands off for stealing like they do in other countries . that does do the trick so it will never happen again !
If they chose my house to steal from , there is someone home all the time and we ALL know how to open the gun safe and choose a gun of choice to help the thief to remember how to leave my home ! As my granddad always told me , a dead man can never testify against you in court and ALWAYS make sure they are in you home when you shoot them !
    I HATE a damn thief !

  14. Pretty wild about the Cash for Gold envelopes, a good way to turn loot around fast. When my house was hit, they got my rings.. odd I wasn't wearing them that day, some of my wife's earrings. They missed her gold chain stash in her closet. She has her chains hanging up so she can select one to go with a particular outfit.

We never had a pawn shop in town until 1974. The place was really busy for 6 months. It turned out to be a sting by the local police and they figured that over half of what was pawned was stolen.

Now we have at least 4 pawn shops and they all have shops in other cities. I'm sure they buy in one city and sell in a different city.

I'm lucky here in that a couple of the neighbors wives have child care in their homes so they're always home. Kids watch everybody coming and going. I have motion sensor lights and cameras, mainly to watch the deer, turkeys pheasants and the occasional bear. I don't have a land line phone in the house so nobody can call to check to see if I'm home.

If you just got that tig welder, I'd check out anyone who knew you just got it, and also check the shop where you bought it.

I started fall semester going to Engineering College, and was the only at the house that Semester...had to drive to Akron 40 mile commute one way. Called my buddy....was feeling that the Corvette was not safe..he had the same thoughts ......so we moved it Sunday night only him and I knew it was moved.........next Monday morning before I got back from college ......someone blew the lock of the barn, kicked the door open..........no vette....and left. Co_k Su_cker.....be lucky didn't trap you back there......cuz I would of F_k'd your ride up....trying to get away.

Went racing in FL back in the 80's, West Palm, Bradenton then back to the snow. Mother fuckers hit my shop, took 2 complete roller cam rat motors, a bunch of parts, a fresh block I just got alignbored, it sucked. Put in a extensive well itemized claim to my homeowners ins. Got about 3 no 4 times what I could have sold that shit for. I felt a lot better when that 5 figure check showed up.

It may not be one of YOUR friends but i'd bet money it's one of their friends. Watch craigslist in your area and check the pawn shops. We just had a go-kart and dirt bike disappear about two weeks ago. Had a police friend fill out a report for the insurance and made sure everyone I know, knew I did. The dirtbike magically showed up in the yard in front of the house Monday. I'd bet I see the kart shortly. It's usually the low lifes that don't know you personally.

Recently a girl had locked her spendy bicycle up while she ate lunch at a local restaurant (Boulder, Co). Some kid cut her lock took her bike. A few days later she found it on Craigslist. She called him and arainged to come look at it. When she "test rode" the bike she just rode to the police station, she stole her bike back and he got arrested. That was sweeeeet!!

There's no shortage of thieves in Minnesota, I've been ripped off numerous times. The worst was when I came out one morning to find my '69 Charger sitting on the brake drums and the tach and stereo literally ripped out of the dash. That was 30 years ago and it still pisses me off...
