Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by F&J, Apr 21, 2012.

  1. Pix should be posted on the EFV8 New England Regional Group web site soon. Lots of people were walking around with their buys......one guy got a set of 4 near-new BFG Silvertowns on like-new rims - all for $40........quite a lot of flathead stuff, as you would expect.......a great '32 coupe windshield frame marked as a Model A for dirt.......several pre-war bodies........the usual SBC speed stuff......very reasonable asking prices on most things........good food (for a change) supplied by the Pilots ***ociation......

[IMG] Here are a few random shots that I took today. It was cold and overcast, but the rain held of till after noon. Still it was a fun time and got to see many friends I haven't seen in a few months.

Weather cooperated. Thank you, Lord. Just misty before 11 am. Thought that it may have scared away a few vendors. Crowd was decent. Bought a few parts for my Flathead. HAPPY, HAPPY

show was great as always, even with the yearly threat of horrible weather this meet always comes through. I managed to pick up a set of early appliance 15x6" chrome reverse wheels in 5 on 5.5 pattern. not perfect chrome but for $40 with a spare ford 15" chrome reverse thrown in the mix I couldn't turn it down!

other steals for the day included a nice set of offy y-block valve covers for $60 and a cragar adapter to early ford for $100

lots of decent deals to be had if you needed parts.

I wish I had thought to check in here before I went. I ran into hammered-T by chance and saw dave50's coupe but didn't catch him.

did anyone take pics of the orange red ram powered 5 window with the old hot rod body?? obviously a new build of an old rod but it was still one of the coolest cars there!

[IMG] This is where we will be racing this September. I certainly don't want to rush the summer, but I can't wait to race here.

I had planned on going but my plane was delayed more than 2 hours on the runway down in Newark. So I didn't get into Logan till about 10:30. Anyhoo...didn't get home till after 12:00 after a long day of travel. Set the alarm for 4:30 AM...UGGG. Went back to bed...

    Good time for sure!

I sold some BIG item (heavy) stuff which made the ride home much nicer. I refrained from buying anything which is rare, had a great breakfast at the airport diner....made a nice poopie there as well..........thats another story

Had a great time- got to catch up with some buddies I hadn't seen in a while, sold some items and got some key parts for the cabriolet- including a last minute deal on an original decklid!!

This was my first time at the show and will definitely go back.

    Revkev,

That is the one. It's so far the best piece of metal on the car.

So someone else did see it. I figured no one else saw it since I grabbed it late in the day, after many people had already left.

that thing has my grubby paw prints all over it, nice snag! :D

It was one of the 100 items I looked at that day that I had to restrain myself from buying because I didn't need it! prices were fair for most things, couple guys who thought they had gold. that 32 sport coupe that was being offered as a 5 window project was a complete mess!

I was also feeling great about not buying anything, then I decided to go say goodby to a friend and saw the decklid- it was too good to p*** up. That coupled with the front frame section I got has stoked the building flames. I might just have the frame completed by the end of the summer. That is if I can ever get the two halves in the same place at the same time. The Golf can fit alot, but a '32 frame is not one of them. I need a truck!

Dan from Albany NY scored a very odd Offy bell; It is Flathead v8 to 37 Buick topshift case. He was dropping stuff off at our space rather than walk to the car each time. We were scratching our heads trying to ID the trans pattern before he got back.

I did not need much. All I bought was a 33/34 Ebrake lever with real nice orig chrome for $5, but had to buy the one next to it that had the missing lower parts for $10. :)

I'm trying to find a way to fit it up today...kinda tight spaces near the trans.

  29. I took up a few items and sold some of the desirable stuff.
Sold some knock off spinners, sold a clean wood steering wheel and sold my big 'n little white wall radials. Sold everything way too cheap but I'd rather carry home money than unsold parts on a gloomy cold day in Fitchburg.
It was great seeing a lot of friends again that I've missed over the past several months.
If I can get a large truck next week I've got a lot of big stuff to take to Amherst on Sunday.
I've always been a buyer but this is the first time I've started selling a lot of stuff.
I need the space and my tastes have changed on the builds I presently own.
