I've been a lurker on and off for years. In the process of restoring a FG1-D Corsair in Stratford Connecticut. Love seeing the vintage and conceptual 40's hot rods.

Welcome from another A&P. I think I got you beat Ghost - I've been known to make oil drip out of a Stearman or two...

  13. Welcome from Virginia. Did you bring that bird back to it's birthplace ?
My Grandfather worked at C-V during the war, he was in his '70's then.

Welcome from Va. again. I grew up in CT. and my Mom worked at Chance Vought during the war riveting part of the cowel section. Are you working on what is/ was the gate guardian at the airport? I still have a cousin who lives in Lordship. Maybe you can share a photo with us. Karl

Next time you think you have it bad, multiply this by 18 and you get the idea of the back side of the engine cowl...

The older gentleman you see in the photo is 92 years old and worked on the Corsair production line during WW2. He still volunteers on the project several days a week and can do some pretty cool sheetmetal work. The other fello , Mark, his mom and dad worked at Chance Vought in Stratford also during the war.

Hi, AME from Canada. Is that bent wing going to be airworthy? I've restored aircraft almost as old - Grumman Goose - but never a warbird. Good stuff.

Thanks for the photos. Wonder if my mom worked on that plane when it was first produced.

Welcome to the H.A.M.B. and I'm sure most of us here will really enjoy seeing the progress on this. I think it's great that the older gentleman is helping out to.....

Welcome from the west coast of Florida.

Years ago we used to go to Pinehurst in shelton once a year for a very large picnic,

Is it still there? It was not far from Sikorsky Aircraft.

What an interesting project you have gong on.

Best of luck with it. Jimbo
