I've been lurking on here a while and have kept forgetting to do the intro . I was born in 1950 so you can figure the automobiles I have been around . I was a skinny sickly smart kid with gl***es that many liked to pick on so I became a bit of a loner . I became interested in cars quite young . I built model cars , frequently swapping stuff from one to another . When the other fellows in cl*** were doodling girls , I doodled hot rods [and girls ] . I joined the NSRA when they had the Street Machine/Van division and became a Lifetime member later . I participated in the 1974 NSRA Street Machine/Van National event and won one of the driving contests in an OT car . I investigated a few professions in college and later took technical courses and became an ASE mechanic for a while . Life , my first wife and arthritis [dang Uncle Arthur killed my career ] kicked me in the shins but I'm still hanging in there . A few years ago I got as close as I could to my first car , a 1961 Ford Falcon , with a 1963 1/2 Falcon , to be driven whenever wherever , that will give me something to tinker with till they try to take me to the old folks home . I hope odd ducks are welcome here as I'm going low-buck home-built , mild custom on the outside and trying for 40 mpg with mostly old technology [no fuel injection or Hypermileing] under the hood with my Falcon . I don't have much money so ingenuity and scrounging will have to take its place .
Welcome from another native Tennessean born in 1950. So give me a clue, as I've never heard of it, where in the heck is Finger, Tn.? I spent my first 12 yrs. in East Tn. between Newport and Dandridge. Though I've been gone for many yrs., my heart still yearns for those mountains........................Don.
It's on the west side of TN , a bustling metropolis in McNairy county* of about 375 about halfway between Jackson and Selmer* [* you know - home to Buford Pusser] , just off the Rockabilly Highway .

Welcome from South Carolina, and I thought "Bucksnort Tn" was strange, I suppose that the name has a story behind it.
City hall - sort of . Police - no , the Sheriff patrols . There is one heck of a Volunteer Fire Dept . though .
