Oh and I ask because this steering wheel/column came with the vehicle I bought and I'm trying to identify the front end/steering box so I can get a knuckle for it.
Okay so that damn steering wheel was used on hundreds of cars apparently! Ha! Is there a code I can look at on the column or steering box to identify it?
It's a Buick column with a Chevy wheel. You can tell from the tan paint on the lower half. See the funny?
I believe it is a mid 70's Car. I have used plenty of the mid 70's G M Vans. they are getting scarce now. I use to hoard them, only have one left, and I am hanging on to it. I have a 74 Buick Riveria Column in my '39 Chev. It has been in there for around 25 or so years.
I saw the same wheel on a customer's Olds,...I think GM just swapped logos for different cars, used sam wheel. 4TTRUK
Like 75-90 GM almost anything. Have an '88 Caprice with the same wheel with a different logo. If it's a GM steering box, they just about all have the same size shaft and splines, it should be easy to come up with something. And if it's not one, it's the other one. Judging by the multifunction control it's like '78-'82 or thereabouts, they changed the design of that in the early 80s, and I know from having them around the design of the plugs for the wiring changes in '78; you may have to look up ebay listings to find picture to compare to sort it out. But those columns are almost all identical for years on the interior side of the firewall.
