Just registered and an intro is in order. Been doing the car thing for over 40 years back when they were Hotrods, not Streetrods. Luckily most of us have evolved and are building and driving much safer rods today. Currently have two Streetrods, SS Chevelle, and, don't yell at me, a Corvette. Like all kinds, especially the Rods and Customs. It appears there is much knowledge to be shared on your site. Always open for help of any kind. Learned a long time ago there are a lot of smarter folks out there than me. Thanks for the opportunity to participate.
Welcome to the festivities! Where abouts in Illinois are ya? Lots of Illinoisians here. (although I'm not one of them, I used to be)
Welcome from another new guy from western Illinois, used to spend quite a bit of time in Quincy...fond memories of the Park Hotel and Why Not Lounges Ha Ha Ha those were the days!
Almost forgot, there's a show coming up not too far away from you that might interest you, the 7th Annual Fred Gibb Memorial show in LaHarpe, IL on Aug. 6th. Fred Gibb was one of the Chevy dealers that got a lot of the rare COPO Camaros and Novas in the late 60's, Dickie Harrell drove one of them. Lots of 60's muscle will be there.
I have a friend that goes to Fred Gibb. He is a pro model builder, and built a model of Harrells Camaro. He has won awards all over the country with it. We haven't had the opportunity to attend yet, and we will miss it again this year since we will be in Louisville at the Nat's. As far as the Park Hotel, what happened in the Park, stays in the Park. Just like Vegas, if you know what I mean!!
