I am always thinking about cars I'd like to build next before I ever get one done I am working on. Any way I was thinking about doing a '28-'29 roadster on a '32 frame powered by a Y-block. I was wondering if the Ram Horns exhaust manifolds would fit??
with a Hurst mount up front, I managed to fit rams horns between the rails in the '34. so I suspect you could do it on a '32, unless you pinch the rails to fit the body. Then it might be tight. But, you can always go with T-bird manifolds if it doesn't work.
As previously mentioned...Yes you can run the rams horns aslong as you arent pinching the frame a whole lot and does depend on steering box and motor mounts. Hurst style mount would be the way to go.
That's good as I was leaning toward using the front mounts and a truck bell-housing with the rear engine mounts. Thanks, now all I have to do is win the lotto and i can finish the T and build the A right away.
You are absolutely on the right track, front mounts/truck bellhousing and if available--crossmember. Gives you the room you need to get the ramhorns installed and run the exhaust. Good luck on your build.
They should, I've a friend with a Y-block in his 29 build. It's at rolling ch***is stage with no body and everything fits.
