Just bought this lil jewl in san antonio... owned by an old couple who cant drive it or work on it anymore due to health reasons... very complete and straight car... a day of cleaning and she shines again.. needs a lil trans work and ignition work but thats small beans.. So this is going to be my daily in the next few months... Plans are to drive her with a nice static drop and some wide whites...
My father had a 4-door red Special when I was a kid. I sure remember that dashboard, and all those space-age knobs and levers. When he finally junked it my buddy Doug and I took the radio out and stuck it in Doug's '58 Ford. Of course it didn't fit in the dash so we suspended it below with coat hanger wire. Here is a ****py Polaroid ******* photo from about 1970: The radio would kind of swing back and forth as we drove down the road. The heater core in the Ford leaked a little, and now and then we could hear a hiss as the coolant hit the hot radio. Good times!
sweet Super, I take it from the pics that there was some problem in the front of the hood, maybe rust, as this is typical. What's your plans for repaint. What color is that anyway, looks different in each picture. Thanks for sharing and hope to see more.
lido green is the color of the exterior... the stock hood had some small rust holes so he changed it out... I have since primered the hood on there and removed surface rust etc Thinking of another green paint job in her future but doing the dark green metalic like the interior is done in...
Very Nice... my ride in highschool was a '55 buick super 4 door (baby blue/dover white)... made a great daily, had the 322 nailhead and dynoslow trans.... good cruiser. I'm not old... that was in 1999... props to the guys who did that in '55 though!
Hey Stubbs, I've got some NOS skirts that would fit your car. I mistakenly bought them for my Century and they didn't fit. Shoot me a PM if you're interested.
