My sons ot car was stolen last night (this morning) while he was at work. He is 19, works for what he has, grant you it was a "piece of shit" but it was his piece of shit. It had over 250,000 miles on it and was paid for. These low lifes come along and steal what he has worked for. He is pissed as hell and now left without a car, that car was his life line and they took that away. It is a strange feeling being violated like this. this sucks. Thanks for letting me rant ....

They steal a dozen of them a day here. Mostly Hondas that end up stripped and burned out on a ditch bank somewhere.

I remember hearing that the Yak was pretty bad for that when we were living in the Burg. Fingers crossed that you are able to get your son's car back.

  4. It sucks. Theft is one of those things that really piss me off. It is such a cowardly act, taking from a person who has worked to get it.

Rat bastard thieves piss me off more all the time. Sorry your son has to deal with this, I know that mine would really be upset if his car was stolen.

I could really go on a rant here, but it would get all political and vigilante, so I'll just wish the thieves an early, painful death........

I don't blame you both for being pissed. It is way to common. I hear reports like this all the time. Thieves roll under cars and stealing the cat converters. We had a school/day care robbed of its electrical wire and plumbing pipe. They actually cut into the walls and cut it out to sell as scrap. Flooded the place.

I used to drive a tow truck in Detroit. It was amazing how thieves would attempt to steal someone's $500 clunker, fail, and leave it undriveable afterwards. Not to mention what they would do to the new ones. I towed a brand new Lincoln MKX with the window smashed out, the column broken, and the Nav system ripped out of the dash, while the lady was at a funeral home paying respects. My favorite was one with bullet holes in it from the owner trying to hit the thieves.

If you have ever watched that show Bait Car, it gives you a glimpse into the minds of the idiots who steal cars. Most of them have no purpose for doing it, other than to ride around in it, and they have no feelings for the person who owns the car or much of anything for that matter. They are just lowlifes who do it again and again, and even when caught most return to the same stealing ways. They have never owned anything and never will own anything, so they simply feel it is ok to steal yours.

There was a local kid here who was arrested 57 times for stealing cars and he was still on the street. Wouldn't you think after, oh, maybe 56 times, some Judge would realize he wasn't going to change his ways and would put him away for a very long time ? The courts are too lienent on these parasites of society.

Years ago my own Son's Honda was stolen and they found it then next day in a ditch with the axle snapped, so I understand how frustrated you are for your Son losing something he worked to buy. Hard lessons for youngsters to learn about life. Call all the towing companies in your area, chances are they have it sitting in their lot as the thieves abandon them usually.

Would be nice if there were some lawyer with balls enough to represent the 57th victim and sue the prick judge who let the perp off after the 56th as an accessory....

I really hate reading these. This seems to be a trend that is increasing at an alarming rate.

    Best of luck on recovery.

A few months ago my daughters nissan truck was stolen. They (the thief) left another truck in my drive way. I was almost identical. When I lifted my garage door to wait for my carpool partner to show up I thought, at first glance, that my daughter parked injust a different spot. As I was putting my work shoes on I was looking at the truck and then I realized that it was different. They broke the window and used a "jiggle" key to start the truck. It was driven about 10 miles and dumped in a neighborhood and another nissan was stolen. The only reason that the police came to my house that morning was because of the other truck. My daughter got her truck back a week later, missing only a sweatshirt and a little bit of gas. theonly damage was the broken window. 60 dollars later the truck was almost as good as before. She got lucky.

Ya it was locked. They have it on survaliance video. They drive up and a guy gets out and slim jims the door lock, then i assume they popped the ignition out. It took them less than a minute. It was a 1991 camrery with 250000+ miles on it. little 4 cylinder automatic.

No one's ever stoln my cars because I drive weird crap. However when i opened shop a kid had his car stolen the night after I condemned the transmission. Real sketchy kid when he came in to ask where his car was. I called the cops for him but then told the cops after the kid left the trans was hooped and it wouldn't have gone far. I suggested they ask the kid where it was. Never saw him again :)

That said, I am not accusing your son or his buddies.. I know I would be gutted if one of my cars ever got taken. I hope he gets wheels again soon.

They just busted a guy around here that was stealing them and scrapping them. Of course they never mentioned anything about the yard that was accepting the stolen cars.

I used to work at an auto shop next door to a police impound yard. We turned the cars that were forfeit into undercover / sting cars if they were clean enough to actually use.

Most of the stolen cars they had you wouldn't want back. Crack pipe burns, crap everywhere, cars beat to hell in only a short time. I can't figure out how someone can steal a car and make it smell like a gym locker room / animal cage / garbage dump in less that 24 hours. You'd think the thieves would be able to be found by smell alone.

  19. Happens all too often. For the extra $7.00 per month, per vehicle, I add full coverage.

I think that model of Camry is still right at the top of the most stolen cars in Wa state. Either for parts or used to commit another crime.

Sucks but thieves will be thieves. No respect for others property.
