    I can measure again but i ran a 93 jeep cherakee rear end with 3:55 gears. Fits nice. I'm running a 5:60 15 tire but there is still lots of room on frame side and fender side. I can get the tape out if you like but I'm pretty sure it was 59 1/2. You car looks great.

  3. 67 Coronet is a B-Body - just to set the record straight.

    Love the car, I think the flattie with a 5 gear and some taller rear gears would be very cool - lots of low rpm grunt so shouldn't be an issue for cruising at lower rpms, and if it lugs just drop it back a gear.

    Well I had to jump the tracks a little bit on the priority list...I'm sure you guys have all been there before, Something comes around that you weren't planning on right away but you just couldn't resist the timing or the deal..Well that happened to me this week. I had thrown a hook out with some local buddies to keep a eye out for any old speed equipment for my flatty Plymouth 6....and I hooked one..FISH ON!!!...I had to scramble and find some cash quick, cause all my funds had been currently designated to the transmission/rear end project..But here it is a complete Edmunds custom Intake with carbs and linkage..I'm stoked..

    SWEET!

    The carbs look to be Carter Ball & Ball. What model? What cam grind? What compression ratio? What exhaust setup? I need more info.

    Awesome find!!...I need to check my ****** mounts that you mentioned to me on the P15 site as to why my gears pop out...you said mid-mounts may be the culprit, are those the ones right behind the block?

    I would concur, not to mention the shear age of the rubber compound is surely shot. I purchased mine from Andy Bernbaum

    You sir, are a ROCK STAR...great work keeping another older Plymouth out there on the road. Absolutely love all the mods so far, especially the 5 speed. Wish that had been an option when I built the '51 3 p***enger coupe I owned 1973-2003. My flattie sported same Edmunds intake, Fenton dual 3 into 1 cast iron headers, Edmunds finned aluminum head, and an Isky 3/4 grind cam...great running little package. Love your '40!!! My current '50 3 p***enger coupe is all later model MoPar, 360 V8, TorqueFlite, etc.

    So what would be the difference, I mean beside the cool factor from a Edmunds head to a milled stock head?

    Would have to wait for someone else to chime in here on this, but I believe I read somewhere that Edmunds "Recurved" the combustion chamber some..? Or something to do with that area to improve flow..Also there were two versions for the Plymouth Dodge short engines..One for internal water byp*** and one for external byp***..I maybe all wrong on this, I have'n't done all my homework yet..

    Oops, I shall go sit in the corner now and correctly recite my mopar body codes!...and to think I once owned a '66 coronet 4 door.{440 trim/poly motor}

    Per the speedo ***embly- I could toss up a shot of my "origonal" litho gl*** just for laughs, but it was 90% gl*** and maybe 10% litho...if you know what i mean{and I think you do - too}. I was lucky that all 4 of the side gauges worked though the PO said the gas at 1/2 tank was acting weird{sender!}, the speedo was an issue though since the "indicator ring" was warped and wouldn't turn freely. Once I popped it out more it worked fine. I found a new{ish} ring and installed it so now I'm good. "I think I can rebuild the old indicator disc with flat clear sheet!" I'm nearly done with better back lighting on that and finished my repair of the cowl vent door- the rivet that held the pivot arm on the door was frozen, drilled it out and fitted a new bolt and nylock. Current projects- unfreezing my temp control valve and figuring out what to put in my radio delete plate for turn signal indicators{they'll go in the radio knob holes} and door lock switches{power locks} and maybe an old school rear defrost fan switch.
    Yell if you want any insite or pics as the whole dash came out of mine a week ago...to burlewood trim it or not....Hmmmm!{check out woodgraining.com under the burle wood vid, you'll see what I'm after}

    BTW, have you ever pulled your front floorboard?...man, you talk about nearly unlimited access to the very back of the motor, brake MC and the trans! Cost me 3 days, 1/2 a can of PB Blaster, 7 struckslot tips and some map gas, but I got it out...and it was worth the h***le! You can easily access your rear rubber{or whatever they are now} motor mounts as well as your shift rod and cable and trans shiftarm adjustments. Yes, it'll look like a flintstone car when done......

    You are going to love the intake, I ran the same one on my flatty.
    The water heat is great. Mine would start before I could let go of the key even at -10 degrees, and be warmed up and ready to roll before I had it backed out of the garage, with no chokes on the carbs.

    Looking forward to your updates...

    Pete

    The headers came from Tom Langdon, of Langdon's Stovebolt Six. Not sure if he still sells them or not, but he does sell a re-engineered better version of the cast iron Fenton style headers. The tube headers are cut down Vette headers, so the collector has the fourth tube pinched off on the side facing the block. Not the best detail, but at the time (2001), it was all I could find.

    I posted a clip of it back on page five of your thread, taken just after I got the dual smithys installed.

    Here's another-
