    Nice score!

Once while bored while the wife was looking through jewelry at an antique shop I discovered a box in the corner filled with old machinist tools and vacuum gauge in a nice metal box. The shop owner had no idea what any of it was as it came to her as a package deal with other stuff that she had purchased. $15 for all and she was happy to get it out of her shop.

I like antique shops now. :D

    Ah. Hmm...

Note to self: become familiar with antique stores around here.

  5. That mirror belongs on a 59, not collecting dust in the corner desk of a home office .... this is the way the gods intended it .... oh BTW I just happen to have a 59!

cool car stuff is rare at antique stores..at least that has been my experience. the only thing I can think of I ever bought was a 57 T-Bird promo car.

what's getting hard to find around here is actual antiques in the antique store.

Nice find on the automotive goodies, but your biggest score was definitely Mrs. 3wLarry.

There are usually a lot of car related things in the antique shops around here, but you better know what you are looking for, because most of the time the people selling stuff have no clue what the items are. For instance I bought an old valve grinder for a buck because it was labeled "old hand mixer "missing some parts"".

Im with you on this one,as well as the fact that when you go into them they think the new repop stuff they have is worth gold prices because its "old" Its amazing how much 80's stuff I have come across and the store clerks swear its not. Maybe its a california thing I dont know.

I've been antiquing and junk store hunting since I was 14..Heck if I saw just a glimpse of something cool in your yard I would knock on your door..Scored many 60's longboards out here doing that..Last cool find was an XL custom car club jacket that was black and had embroidery on the back of a roadster with a martini gl*** in the drivers seat..club was "Seagrams" it was mint..went back to the same store about a month later and the Bell Foundry car club plaque was there...so I had the jacket and plaque..the club was out of Bellflower, Ca. The dealer must have found them at an estate sale and didn't get them both in the booth at the same time..anyway the jacket was like $40 bucks and the plaque was $20...I love junk store hunting!
