Found this website in my google search for info about Vintage Snap On toolboxes. It does NOT have a year made stamped on it anywhere as others have suggested to other poeple posting questions on age of their's. It is dark army green in color, has a plaque stating "SNAP ON . KENOSHA WISCONSIN . TRADEMARK . MADE IN USA. It is in pretty decent shape considering, could use fresh paint, couple small dents....typical for a toolbox that's been used ! It has 2 slide open doors that go over the slide out drawers on lower box(removed for pic). Could anyone tell me what year and ball park value...I know the value is ultimately up to the buyer, but... Hopefully the pic is helpful!
Don't know but it looks like the one in my garage. Mine has 2 drawers where yours has holes. The old man bought it second hand in 1948. 25 or 30 years ago I tried to get a new lock from the Snap On dealer and he didn't have one. His locks only went back 50 years.
Go over to Garage Journal, tool section. Click below. Several good Snap-on experts to supplement the various SO History sites ( http://collectingsnapon.com/index.php ) The lack of date stamp on rear itself partially dates it, to early 1950's or older.
I think there is a way to date old Snap On toolboxes from the style of the script of the Snap On logo..... I would contact your friendly Snap on dealer...... Any tool dealer thats worth a damn will help you ID this box...... Especially if you are buyin tools from him......LOL....
