41 Tudor, replace the starter

    I have a 41 tudor and need to replace the starter I'm not a dummy but I can't see how to take the old starter off to replace it. Any and all help would be apreciated.[​IMG]

    the two bolt that pass through the starter are long and tread into the housing ,have 1 or 2 5/16 course nuts handy when you remove starter as tthese bolts hold the starter togeher ,,

    Got old starter out quickly , new starter doesn't want to go past flywheel they are different in appearance , Catalog said the one I got was the right one? [/ATTACH][/ATTACH]<!-- / message --><!-- attachments -->

    Flatty starters need to be tilted and swung to the side a bit on installation or removal. If you have headers in the way sometimes it can be tricky. Just wiggle it a round a bit and it should go. As you can see, you need to get the big drive around the side of the ring gear in the tight confines of the pan.

    I got the new starter in,Thank you for the help folks. I didn't have to file or grind anything!!!
