Not much is known about the
history of this one. It was a
1960's show car in the "George
Barris" style, that was put out
to pasture a LONG time ago.

Found behind an old repair shop
on Rt. 519 in Rosemont, NJ. It
was originally a ’59 Lincoln that
had three ’57 T-bird scoops on
    the elongated hood. The interior
was the back seat only with a
    huge extension on the dashboard.
As hideous as it was, there was
a ton of work put into it! That car
along with many other far gone
    projects were unfortunately
purchased by a s****per out of
    Philly.

A LOT of work was put into this
car...a long time ago. The cowl
has been moved back to where
the front seat was, and the front
seat is sitting where the rear seat
was. Front sheet metal now 3
feet longer. These are supposed to
    have dual canted headlight bezels
originally, but as you can see SIX
    headlights were added.

Most of the mods appear to have
been done using body filler on
that car - way more than there
should be, even for custom body
modifications. Also, a lot was done
    with brazing instead of actual
    welding. Brazing seems to start
    rusting almost immediately......
especially if left outside in New
    Jersey.

    Pretty amazing what can be
    found behind old buildings.

I think ugliest ever might be a bit harsh, but most definitely bizarre and ill-conceived.
But in spite of all that, I'm with silent poet.

  13. That period in time was when Kustoms were about killed by themselves......as I remember they were seemingly in a contest to see how many modifications one coud get on one car.
they were so overdone and tasteless ,they could rarely be identified as to what kind of car it even was to start with......

  14. Not a Ute, - a flower car.

I was watching chasing cl***ic cars the other day and they had this bmw custom thing, that was the ugliest car I ever saw. Sold for 145k and needed a total resto.

BMW Veritas, hands down ugliest. I had never heard of this car until recently, and now I can see why.
I fell on the floor laughing when I saw the commercial for Chasing Cl***ic Cars, and the guy talking about giving up half his collection for this turd. Rarity sure doesn't make it pretty. I know there are those who don't agree, but is this what old cars have become? Because it's rare, rich old guys will fall all over themselves to outbid each other, for something so apocalyptically hideous? Then they'll try to tell you how "innovative" or "ahead of its time" it is, and how the designer was a genius. ********.

I guess it doesn't matter now, because every car in that yard has probably been crushed and melted down, ready to begin its next life as an unreliable washing machine or refrigerator.

Whoever he was, the builder didn't think small. That thing was based on the largest unit body built up to that time, which was then cut apart and extended at the front. THREE T-Birds gave their hoods to the project, and who knows what other cars were sacrificed to create this ********.

Man I agree, those guys on the show were thrilled to even see the car. They were willing to bid high $ over it like it was a amazing piece of art,LOL. What a piece of ****.The fins are (sky high) with rows of round tail lights on them and the body proportions were way out of good taste design. The Lincoln on here is just about as bad .

I've seen WAY uglier customs than that. It's really no uglier than it was originally, actually, maybe even better! Better being relative...

I figured some ***** would chime in with a new jersey comment..do some research, and you'll learn that new jersey was a hot rod and custom car mecca during the golden years, many significant builders and cars....BTW, the only people who say "joisey" are the idiots not from here.....

I'm right there too on this thought. Ability means nothing without taste and a sense of proportion. This one seemed to have lacked all 3.
