PROBLEM: Vacuum Advance is trashed (rusted out) and I only need to FIND a vacuum advance that will work with this distributor!

ANY help would be greatly appreciated?!

The Distributor is from a 1939 Plym Roadking P8..

    Distributor part # IGS-4103A-1

I would imagine that NAPA (or another local part store) would surely have something that would work, but the guys at the local NAPA really had no idea about it (

I'm really hoping for a solution that won't require me having to wait for part to be shipped, but at this point, ugh... I would also like to avoid paying $100 for a 'vintage' replacement....

    Ideas?

I've run my 41 Chrysler 6 without a vacuum advance for years.
I did find one on ebay but haven't gotten around to installing it yet. Check over on the P15-D24 site.

So just toss the distrib back in there without the advance connect to it or the carb?

I am interested in how this would affect performance with a '50 P23 running a newly rebuilt '39 distrib... I also read somewhere that there would be no accel / cruising power if run without the advance? Noticable?

Thanks for the reply!! I can't wait to get this on the road.

Have you tried Roberts Motor parts, Andy Bernbaum, Vintage Power Wagons?
