If it was that would be very cool but I'm guessing it isn't , but you never know it could be the metallic red one you seen years ago after being cut up more, old race cars seem to end up all over the country, a freind of mine saw a car that he crewed on in the 70's a couple years ago in Ca. They definetly got around, he also told me the ch***is looks like it could possibly be a logge, the hoop that is on it now was added later in life u can see were they cut the original hoop of the top rail when it was updated at somepoint and pop riveted aluminum patches were the old one stuck thru

I know the ch***is was On the body because there is a frame work made out of tubing in the trunk that is half the hinge to flip the body and the other half you can see in the ch***is pic I set the tail of the body over the ch***is and they line up perfectly,

Wow, I'd be making a contact with Force for sure!! I would "***ume" that he would make it worth your while to be able to purchase it back to restore it!
    Very cool indeed!!

Nope, not the Booths car, that's definately not a state of he art Pro Mod ch***is. Pro Mods still run left hand steering, not center steer.

Edit--OK, I see that you're saying they had an early Corvette in the 70's, sorry bout that. I don't know anything about that car.

As I recall (take it for what it's worth) the Booths swapped the 38 to Darrell Reid in Wichita Falls for the early Corvette Pro Mod (project) he was building. That's the car they ran for a while. I think Reid sold the 38 overseas, but I'm not really sure.

  6. It is NOT John Forces and it is most likely not original GM. You guys make Snopes quiver with excitement.

Hey T-man when did they manufacture aftermarket 54 Vette bodies? What years and who made them?

Precisely what i was thinking when i noticed the stretched front.

  10. Lots of folks over the years pulled one-off plugs and splashes. One of our HAMBers even has a later one that he is building. I would love to see CLEAR pictures of the inside.

Tman the complete hinge mechanism for the flap that the convetible top goes under is there including all the factory trim clips and some of the trim also the gas cap door I doubt they would of added that stuff to a one off race body, trust me it's the remnants of a original body,

The Pink color only appears to be in the area where they extended the front fenders, could be bondo, TigerHair fibergl*** reinforced, or primer ....................
The headlite opening don't look like a '54 Vette anymore.

Look for bonding straps where the panels would have been glued together at the factory .they look like strips of gl*** that are glued along the back side of seams (factory corvette bodies were made of a bunch of panels glued together) Also on 53-55 the taillight pods where bonded to the rear quarters as they were a seperate part. 54 bodies were still hand layed i think so smooth on the inside wont come into play here ...I think. At a quick glance the ch***is has some Lyndwood features, they made an Altered chasis along with the rails. Post that on the Dover Drag Striop site, it may have run at that New York strip up until it closed in 1976. Bob

Doesn't look like the same car. Rear wheel openings aren't cut out in the found car like the one in your pics. I grew up near Taunton, but it's not ringing any bells. If it was a local car, probably would've run at CT Dragway or Epping. Maybe take some clear pics and show them around at the Nostalgia Cl***ic on 5/27 at New England Dragway?

It might be better suited to be turned back into a usable street driven 54 vette albeit with a newer ch***is. The Chopit's are looking for one for their Mom who just loves 53-55 vettes. They already have a 61 turn key ch***is in their possesion so perhaps you might want to flip it to them.

Seeing their previous kustom work, they'd do that body justice. Fabian Chopit is here on the HAMB, so perhaps a PM could happen. I'd really like to see something like that happen to it and it wouldn't be something that wouldn't garner some positive attention on all fronts.

Very cool pics probably not it like you say but still cool the ch***is originally had a hoop like that u can see were it used to be under the tim work and they pop riveted patches over the holes and added the newer style that's on there now thanks for the pics

  25. Very cool fiind. I hope the history of this car is found.

  26. Thats a VERY cool idea Kev!

  27. Keep digging, someone as to know the history behind this car! As already stated not alot of these around. I think Id try and put back to 60s status and just show it, maybe update it enough for nostalgia drags

Very cool find! I'm really curious of it's history no matter who it belonged too. Subcribed to find out what happens. Can't be that many 'vettes out there like that. Someone knows the history of the car, they just have to found.

  29. The pictured car is also left steer and not stretched as well as having the headlights blanked out.
