i just did a 12 volt con. on my '48 Plymouth. everything runs/ turns on as it should except one thing. my turn signals. wondering if this happened to anyone else or if anyone has any advice. heres the problem. when i flip the T/S lever left or right side, all 4 of my lights blink. i have a 12 circuit Harness from EZ wire. anything will help, ive done run out of ideas what to look for.
call tech support. they'll walk you through diagnosing what the problem is. they have GERAT tech support!
OK. Thanks Falcon, ive tried them a couple of times can never get ahold of the techs. but ill keep tryin. (durin business hrs)
My EZ Wire kit was great, and the one question I had was answered perfectly.... when I remembered to call while they were open.
I've used another brand but i'm sure they are basicly the same diagrams. I think i'd point my finger at the steering column switch.
I have an ez wire in my truck with no problems. You might look at the grounds on your light circuit. I sometimes forget to look at the simple fixes first.
It sounds like your turn signals are toggling your 4-way flashers.. it does have 4-way flashers doesn't it? I'd go back and look through the schematic again. Bob
Bad ground. Both rears on my '53 Chevy stock system started doing that one day, (rear turns only), checked and cleaned around sockets problem went away.
A bad bulb will make you nuts as well. I'd start replacing them 1 by 1 using a new bulb just to rule it out quick. But it usually is limited to the rears or the front from my experience. Bob
I had the same problem however I was using a battery charger for juice, Spent days making grounds for all the lights, adding more grounds to frame,,I was completely baffled,. The battery charger amps too low!.Connected a fully charged battery and everything worked fine
Firengine- i'll give that a try. n see what happens. Thiv- yea 4 ways works. just when i turn it to left or right thats when the 4 ways kome on. haha
I just bought a new battery a few days ago n put it in, so it cant be that for me. im narrowin it down to bulbs, ground, or bad switch.
Another point I should make..My EZ wiring kit I bought on ebay turned out to be a knockoff,, I found this out when I called EZ with a question as to why all my lights were flashin' and they seemed confused and requested a picture of my fuse panel..The picture of fuse panel was their clue I had been duped along with the fact that the instruction booklet included is called How to Wire your hotrod by Jack Sweeden. My wiring kit is a 12 circuit and the quality is very good,,cost was $149.00
well i figured out my problem. this never crossed my mind at the time. the front runnin lights r only a one wire socket, and i had the park lites n t/s lite wires twisted together which in turn made the lights all flash at the same time. i since then replaced with a dual contact socket. n everything is good now. thanks for all the advice guys
