Hiya everyone. I bought this 51 chevy last year from a guy here in sunny England (uk) i just stored it away and now its back out and i intend to get her on the road ASAP with lots of help and info please.

    Shes a 1951 chevy deluxe 4 door
    She has a 305
    Th350
And a ford rear axle (not quite sure which one, help needed)

    The good points are:
    She runs
    She Stops
and is pretty rust free, the floors were done by the previous owner

    The bad points are:
    pretty much everything else

well done on the chevy...please cover that pinstriping!

  7. Dude, I love it and I dont see a whole lot wrong with it. Got confused by the missing door handles on the rear p***enger doors then realised they musta been scrubbed and then I thought that would look good pillarless? Anyway, good luck, see you at shows in the UK possibly! Take care

Thanks for the encouraging comments. Its not all that bad. Most of it needs going over tho, alot of the repairs seem to have been temporary and nearly everything is dangerous. My first plan is to get it on the road and get it safe and remove that horrible pin striping

This has been my first week on the car. It was running when i put it at the back of the warehouse at work, so it just needed the battery charging and some air in the tyres and after a good blast off with the pressure washer, i inspected the car and made a 4 page list of the things that need doing. I thought i would start at the front, so i removed the front end and greased (after removing and un blocking all the ******s) all the front suspension/steering joints and took the slack out of the steering box. Im gonna need a pair of shocks (these are missing and someone has g***ed a big whole removing them and one of the steering arms is bent and the steering box is leaking. i did make my first purchased for the car, some wheels that were on ebay, the arches are gonna need the lips removing as the rears rub and i havent tried the fronts with the wings on yet, but they dont rub on full lock, so fingers crossed.

As most of my parts need to be shipped in from the us, im gonna try and buy in bulk, ive got quite a few of the catalogues and website addresses.
But any advice on the best parts suppliers to get certain parts off of, would be much appreciated
