http://public.fotki.com/Rikster/11_...ustom_cars/gene_winfield/dennis-reinero-56-o/ Anyone have any other info/pics on this car? Anything and everything you have would be great. I know his son is on here but all I have seen is just the one pic.
I have pics of it somewhere, probably on film. white with blue scallops and fins on the back. been a while since I have seen it anywhere.
49ratfink,the white with blue scalloped Olds has been restored and is still around. Dennis's Olds was pearl lavender and as far as I know has not been seen in years. Mick
I don't know about the car, but was he also "The Great Reinero" who had the "T-shirt Factory" airbrushing business near the Santa Cruz Boardwalk? He was a Dennis Reinero and airbrushed lots of hotrods & customs etc onto T-shirts up into the 1970's sometime.
I always thought the white one was Reinero's car? I used to see him at antique shows selling models and car junk. the same guy who painted T shirts in Santa Cruz. looks like him in the picture as well. now I'm confused.
The white and blue scalloped 4-door hardtop with the fins was owned and built by B. C. Niblett from Vallejo. He used it as a tow vehicle for his T roadster pickup show car. Dennis's Olds was built by Winfield and didn't have fins. I talk to Dennis several times a year at different shows. He sells toys etc. but hasn't done any airbrush work for some time. Mick
Satans Chauffeurs on Facebook have the clone. It was in Sac Autorama 2 years ago, cruised Santa Maria, and was at Windfields as well. I'll get the owners to chime in. They have some pics and history on it as well.
The clone is of the Niblett white/blue scalloped car right? Not the Reinero Olds. I thought the Niblett Olds had been restored but it was probably the clone. Mick
THANKS!!!!! http://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.159791810722154.33618.109447609089908&type=3 What were the headlights? I have been told that Gene installed Chrysler headlights but then I also heard that they were 59 Impala with custom bezels?
As far as I know they are 59 Impala with a custom bezel. Oh by the way the clone belongs to ny dad. When Gene and some of his workers saw it at his show, they thought it was the original one. [/IMG]
Love it!!!! I am basing my 56 off this car with the exception that mine has a 57 Buick grill in it. As soon as I am done with the floors the head lights are next.
Neblett's car was chopped. There's no way the two could be confused and I've never seen a clone of it.
