The base kit is a piece of crap, there is a ton of work in this one including headlights, taillights, modified bumpers & lowered suspension. The good thing is you can get them for $5 all day long on E.
NICE WORK GUYS! Thanks for the great link yekoms. Here's a couple shot of the coupe I'm building for the HAMB build off... ( http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/group.php?do=discuss&discussionid=27780&pp=20&page=15 )
I took my son to the Valacon model contest in Winnipeg, Canada yesterday. There were some incredible builds there. Here are a few examples:
rc57, the Lincoln looks great. Is that the gold one coat custom lacquer? I used that color to repaint a '77 Monte Carlo after removing the swank lowrider coating on the pre-painted body. That stuff coates very nicely and looks great. I'm thinking about using it on a full fendered Deuce 3 window to compliment the one pictured above.
Here's a money saving tip for you guys... I went into Michael's today to look at some models.. So I ended buying one... The Revell '69 chevy Nova COPO kit.. They wanted 21 bucks and some change but I didn't have a coupon.. While standing in line, I noticed the cashier scan what I believe was a 40% off coupon right off a customer's cell phone.. When it was my turn to pay for my kit, I asked the cashier if she can do the same for me and she said yes! All I did was to type in michaels.com on my cell phone and she hunted up the coupon for me and scanned it.. I only paid 13.98 for the kit... Cool beans!!...
Hobby Lobby has the on line coupons too, usually good for 40% off your highest priced purchase. It is a great service. Here's a couple quick snaps of the Monte in progress... Looks a bit like an annual promo kit right now.
Cool! There's a Hobby Lobby in Canton, Mi near my job... I'll have to stop in there one of these days after work and see what they have.. Thanks bud!
Here's some pics of my car as a model a good mate did it for me ,I reckon he did a great job...Rod. Sent from my iPhone using TJJ
