What are you listening to in the garage?

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Tony Bones, Jul 14, 2005.

  1. This post comes up every couple months and has actually turned me on to a few good bands. Here's what I'm listening to right now:

-Lars Fredericksen and The Bastards (like cocaine, kind of bad...but good too)
    -Guttermouth
    -The Transplants
-Fu Manchu (saw them recently live...wow)
    -Kyuss
    -NOFX
    -Gorillaz
    -Cypress Hill
    -Belinda Carlisle

  2. I'm guess my musical tastes are stuck in the 80's:
    Motely Crew
    AC/DC
    Posion
    Ted Nugent and Damn Yankees
    Warrant
    Led Zepplin
    Lynard Skynard

Listen to a lot of Jimmy Buffet when the wife is around.

Dude if you like KYUSS and Fu Manchu, check out Darediablo from NYC. Its all acoustic, but somehow I think they fit in line with the others.

I'm setting up my MP3 player with some Sham 69, Toasters, Dick Dale, and Gang Starr for this weekends working......

Thanks to Bass and ImpWagon Phil I started doing a Ramones kick again and everytime I get on a early punk kick out comes Stiff Little Fingers, the Clash, Agent Orange, and Generation X.

I also have been on a psycho kick for a few months that is finally burning itself out and I will be giving it a rest for the near future. On that it was the Necro's, Mad Sin, Batmobile, and I picked up that Horrorpops thing and have been letting it play.

Also the Best of George Thorogood, the T birds, and the Paladins have still not escaped the changer in the garage.

Been doing alot of early Police stuff again (picked up the bass again) and this might get me kicked of the HAMB but I have been really digging on two very different things...Bad Company (cock rock) and I am back on the Replacements...been years since I listend to that stuff.

I have been listening to a lot of various stuff latley. No real set genre... ALways a lot of old school REAL punk rock, hardcore, metal, rockabilly, pschobilly, Classic rock, 50's doo wop and of course drag punk tunes (as Gearhead label would say) Some example as follows:

Misfits, Ramones, Social D, Clutch, Norma Jean, Atreyu, The Murphys, He is Legend, Rob/White Zombie, "Demons", Chuck Berry, Jerry Lee, Buddy Holly, Jan and Dean, Beach Boys, Johnny Cash, The Clash, Hatebreed, Killswitch engage, The Rev. Horton Heat, Tiger Army, Anti-Flag, Flogging Molly, Puffball, Zeke...

The list goes on and on... usually depends what Im doing/ mood I'm in.

  27. i know to each their own but guys that norma jean, atreyu, throwdown, chugga chugga wee wee dressing fancy and wearing girls pants shit is lame.

    but if you like it...

Youve got good taste. Lars Frederiksen and the bastards and guttermouth are 2 of my favorite bands. Not to mention The Trandplants, Fu Manchu, and NoFX.

I basically listen to the classic rock station. The cd player in the garage is broke.
