He's got some nice toys for sure . Must be nice to be able to afford that fleet of beauties ! Retro Jim
Nice collection, be nice to the guy. For your sake I hope the fellow has no children and your wife is his only blood relative. And be nice to your wife, too! Being the ***hole that I am, I will point out that a 1976 Jeep CJ7 with a 350 (SBC, I ***ume) and a 7004R is not a restored vehicle.
When I saw the thread ***le, I thought your wife was collecting uncles. Those are just some old cars. Kinda disappointing.
The Aston Martin is a DB-4 I sold one the same color in that part of the country some time ago. Makes me wonder if its the same car. Could you get the serical number. I have lots of information about the car if its the same one. Changes to the motor, in fact different motor than it left the factory with. I still have the owners manuel (in leather), sale brochure, etc. for the car. Nice variety in that collection.
Franklgr- I knew it was a db4 or 6. The car has been in the family since the early 70s. My wife's grandfather had a huge collection of european cars and he p***ed away in '76 at age 46. All the cars were split up between the kids. The only ones left from the original are the Aston, Dino, the little BMW, Benz 280, and an Alfa that my wife and I inherited and have already sold. 65 Alfa guilia sprint speciale
Next time I'm out I will. He's a pretty cool guy. One of the only relatives on her side I get along with. He like cars, planes and beer. The rest of them like golf and wine. He would drop anything to help a guy out and he usually knows how to fix it. It's also nice to have a lift on all the machinery he's got.
Rivrat - Your "uncle-in-law" has a cool collection ... Thanks for sharing it with us! I dig the '65 Alfa Romeo Giulia SS you & your wife inherited ... hope y'all got something equally as cool with the proceeds from its sale.
We had the car for 2.5 years and sold it. I bought her a restored cl***ic bronco. Sold that one and put a down payment on a pool. I think it was a good trade.
