So, I needed something that could haul around the family, but also be something cool for me. This is my first project ever and it was a tough decision. I narrowed it down to a Chevy and picked her up at the swap meet this past weekend. I can't wait to get started on everything, but that will of course take time and money. For now all I need to do is get a new master brake cylinder, drain the 15 year old gas, clean the plugs and get a hot battery and she'll be drivable.
congrats! Just did that myself, a actual "Rolling" project, wrench and enjoy driving it at the same time.
Congrats. Just be careful, or you'll end up like me. My 'family car' project is currently in the garage, with all the interior completely stripped out. I haven't driven it in a few weeks, and I refuse to put it back into driving state until all the interior goodies, pieces and replacements come in. Looks like the 'driver' won't get driven for a while...
Those make great family adventure cars. When I was young I rode many a mile in the back seat of my grandparents 54 Chevy on trips to the mountains and trips to the ocean. Just don't buy the kids any bamboo flutes at the curio shop on any of the planned road trips. I'm still not sure what my grandfather did with those after he collected them from us on the way home from Long Beach Wa.
Good pick .... Growing up, it seemed my Dad drove a different car every week One I remembered was a mid 50's PINK BELAIR 4 door ..... Jim
