We finally rolled out our new racing web site! I think Bob did a great job- now we just have to do our job, and fill up the pics and such! www.flatcadracing.org Here's the Caddy flathead, on the 496HP dyno run. http://youtu.be/89rVb497_4c We finished the day at 570HP, 544 ft/lbs torque, at 5500 rpm's and 14.2 psi torque!
I'm out working in my shop and I've got the IPhone piped in to the shop stereo for Pandora. I just played the video through the stereo. My neighbors probably thing I was dynoing the bad mother in here! Best of luck on the salt guys. Sent from my iPhone using TJJ app
I've been watching this project for a while, what a job by many of people, and all I can say is WOW!! Have fun racing, wish I could be there.
38 Flatty ..........Ben a'follin' your spread, Very , VERY ! Impressive ..... Send me another T-Shirt, and I'll Wear it Twice a week ! Ole' Smokey, Remember, Only You Can Prevent Forest Fires .
How hard do you think you have to push the engine to get the MPH you are seeking, can you hit your speed below 5,000 RPM?
I think we could hit 170ish at 5000 rpm. We'll see how she runs on the salt, then I'll make the decision on going to 5500 rpm or not.
That's quite an accomplishment. Kind of stopped checking out this thread, now have to go back and see how you did it. Impressive!
Big effort extracting the horsepower you have developed, hope the engine is as strong for you ! The engine sounds plenty stout, not a word used around flattys very often, good luck from Aussie
