Does anybody know how to go about mounting a Thermador to a hardtop? Can it just hang on the drip rail? Obviously there's no where for the support strut to go...

You roll down yor window set it on your gl*** then roll up window to hold it in place. The strut rod goes down and rest against the window above the door body and it needs a rubber tip on it so the metal doesn`t scratch on crack gl***. Hope this helps.

Ooooooo I see.... Does it need to be galvanized? Cuz they have some nice black powder coated ducting at Ace that might look good on there....LOL

1929CDAN- thanks for the help!! Actually sounds easier to mount/dismount than with a sedan...

You need the one with support rod, the model with clamps won't work

    fory,
I manufacture NEW "ThermadoeCar Coolers" and all their parts/componets. As you know there are at least 2 diffrent "mounting styles" for these things. 1)for over the top edge of the door frame and a second(2) style that has a mounting brace that goes to the lower part of the door (where your arm often rests when the window is down). For style (2) the cooler has tab with a hole in it welded to the out side of the unit. It also has a pair of holes in the duct that air enters the car through. There is a V shaped brace that intersectes these holes and goes down to the door edge to support the unit. I can send you some pictures of this mounting system late Wednesday if you send me your e mail

    all the best, Nacifan.

ps. now there is a guy (VW guy?) on e-pay that makes a stainless steel lower brace for these things but it may only fit air cooled Vw's ?? and is $50 bucks
