Will be spending a weekend in Norfolk this spring and was wondering if any locals could point me to any cool (automotive or truck related) things to see while there. Never been to this part of the country before. Any car shows/cruises? Something else? Thanks!
Check the Va. Car Club Calendar at this link: http://carclubcouncil.com/cal.html Also, there is a Sub-group of Va. HAMB'ers that is quite active. You may want to post here:http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/group.php?groupid=69
Saturdays in Virginia Beach which is very nearby are small cruises at Genros diner and the Farmer's Market. PM me if you want more info. If you like old airplanes, check out the Military Aviation Museum. It is really getting pretty awesome! The airshow is May 19th and 20th and if you're lucky enough to be in town for that its a good one!
if you do make it to Hampton roads stop in at Har**** Larry's oyster bar for the best seafood around!!!
Maaaaaaan, I miss that place. I used to be in there on the regular. I wonder if that big f'ckin grouper in the tank is still kickin? Haven't been in there since I left VA in '05. After that, shoot right up the road to Hot Tuna. (PS, the parkway from the beach to amphib base is a looooong straight stretch with dense trees on either side, covering over the road. I'm not suggesting you break any laws or anything, but I know I've set a few personal land-speed records on that stretch a night or two...)
