if I must have a label what would it be

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by 1oldschool1, Apr 30, 2012.

  1. I got thinkin today about the different labels our cars carry. (genre's not model or manufactures) be it hot rod, street rod....etc, etc... I got thinkn, what would my ol ford be cl***ified as? I see her as jus and ol beater. something cool to roll around in. how does the rest of the world see her? everything on her is original as i got her 17yreas ago. cept for the rattle can resto'd engine bay. engine and trans has been rebuild and repainted not oe color scheme. i have power disks up front, electric cooling fan, whiskey bottle rad overflow. I have no intentions to repaint. i have replacment oe front fenders from a swap. when (or if) i put them on I do not plan on painting to match. what do yall think? i am not planing on tryn to fit a mold. jus lookin to prepare myself for possible future responses on the street. check my album to see what im talkn bout

DMV labels mine as a p***enger car.

I've got my own preconceived definitions of hot rods, street rods, customs, etc. What I might call a hot rod, others may not.
    You dig?

Anyone that doesn't know any better will call it a R@ Rod. I had an argument with my buddy the other day over my 55. It took a lot to hold the tears back.:D

as long as you like it who cares about others thoughts about what it is. since you seem to have added some upgrades and keep it maintained that is all that is needed. at least you did not do it in black primer with red wheels and wide whitewalls.

In the 40's they used to be called jalopys.

A jalopy (American English), bomb (Australian English) or banger (British English) is a decrepit car, often old and in a barely functional state. A jalopy is not a well kept antique car, but a car which is mostly rundown or beaten up.

Don't tear off the one on your mattress! As for the OP, I think the label is "newbie" :)

Who cares what they'll "Label" you as?

  16. There is a psychological term for people who "must have" or need a lable to feel validated.
There are people who state that they "don't care what anybody else thinks", but also are compelled to tell everyone how they should be labled as such; because in reality they do care what other folks think.
Then there are actually people who truley don't care what other people think, you rarely ever hear from that type of person.

    Labels are gay....

Except labeling me a ****. That's a fairly correct ***essment.

  20. I really needed that chuckle thanks kenny.

I would expect nothing less from a guy who labels himself "a smart *** white boy" and drives "a pile of ****."

  25. Thanx all. "Mine" is about right. labels give me little for reward or what have you. also, That "r" rod thing I hate that. Its well over used and actualy causes my skin to crawl and my blood to boil. And as for my musical tastes, it varies quite a bit. Thanx again.
