Yeah, might not be as bad *** as most things hanging from hot rod mirrors. But when you get older and yearn for your favorite times, you get brave..............

Remember as a kid back in the 50's seeing baby shoes hanging from many a rear view mirror.

Nothing more nostalgic than good old saddle shoes! Hushpuppy still makes them in black/white, brown/tan and maybe one other color set. I came close to buying some last time around DSW but p***ed for some Bjorn comfort shoes.

Didn't every parent have their kids baby shoes hanging from the rear view or bronzed into an ashtray or some such thing on the end table in the living room. The Single guys all had a "Strippers Garter" hanging from theirs so many in fact I think we are the only location that had 8 legged strippers just so there would be enough used garters to go around!!

Very common thing with the baby shoes. But mine got made into book ends, mounted on 90 degree brackets and "bronzed" for preservation. My sister still has them some place in our treasure trove of silly stuff from our past. Gary

Brucie....... Is that when TV was still in black and white?

Not sure I'd hang them from a rear view mirror. You might get hurt when they start swining around...........lol

  15. in my neighbourhood they normally hang shoes off the powerlines not rearview mirrors:rolleyes:.

seriously though i personally can't stand anything hanging off my mirror.. drives me nuts!!

I know what you mean Fuzzy. I don't really like anything swinging back and forth in my face while I'm driving either. But it's good for the shows........... I just have a thing for the 50's and saddle shoes.

  17. I can remember as recently as the mid to late 80's seeing baby shoes hanging from rear view mirrors. I always wondered if the idea wasn't to remind the nut behind the wheel it was time to drive like a grown up now that there was a tiny human depending on him.

Back in the day of pull-top beer cans, we used to string em together and hang them from the mirror and yes, graduation t***els and wedding garters. I think technically, it's illegal to hang anything on the mirror in Wisconsin.
