has anyone ever tried a concour paint gun?? wondering if it will work with a 2.5 21 ga. -125 psi compressor??to paint my car at home?? seen some of the videos on youtube - but would like to hear from you guys?-goufos
You left out the most important specification about your compressor, the CFM. Paint guns have a CFM rating at a specific pressure. In the case of this gun it's 4CFM at 29 psi. Check this requirement against the specified output of your compressor. Now if the compressor is just at or barely above the requirements of the gun, you will have to stop and let the compressor catch up when you have overtaxed its ability to deliver the volume of air required. You may get by with this for primers but you don't want to have to interrupt your application in the case of topcoats or clears.
With any, and especially one that will run a lot is WATER. Make sure you have good filters and water traps in your air system. I would also pipe the tank drain to an easy location with a ball valve, and drain tank often.
thanks for the info guys! im just painting a 23 t bucket tub without the truck bed and a chopped 32 grill. so its not a real big surface to cover- but there will be a lot of coats because of the heavy flake i will be using- once again thanks for the info!!- goufos
