I have sat a delivery and a Coupe on a Sedan frame , the delivery had some different mounting points but same frame from what I remember . I have noticed on my newer 77's ( 35/36 ) there are extensions on the front of the frame for the later style front sheet metal but that could be modified . You have a 33 Coupe body ? Steel or Glass ?
A guy locally takes 2 door sedans and makes coupes (model 77) out of them, the floors are the same, I'm not sure of the four doors. His name is Bill Gift in Chambersburg Pa.
^^^Hi Lee - good to see you on here at last.... 1933 and 1934 front sheetmetal will fit 1935 frames and 1936 frames - although there are differences between the two - but only after modification of the front frame horns. All Model 77 Willys bodies will interchange on original frame. It's just the front frame horns and spring hangers which are longer in 1935 & 1936 and thus need to be shortened. And yes cpkphil is right, there were no factory Model 77 two door sedans period.
Just to educate us could someone post photos of the 33-34 and 35-36, all these years I thought all Model 77's looked the same. Thanks. Bob
Just found the other 77 picture thread with this photo posted by Weasel. Nice looking car, with a color combination that looks good on any car in the 1928-34 era IMO.
anyone have a 35/36 panel or truck? i need some title info. I'm not looking for a title, just some info. thanks
With 33-36 coupes so hard to find It would be nice to see some info on converting a 4 dr. I believe the front doors and quarter windows are the same?
^^^talk to Lee Kay - kays kustom in post #8 above; see his work at www.kayskustommetalworks.com. Lee is the King of Willys sheet metal fabricators and can do a sedan to coupe conversion. Or you could buy my cherry all steel Model 77 coupe....
I think coupe quarter windows are a bit smaller...I have one somewhere, I'll check it against my sedan moulding when I find it. g-willys
Willysguy, If it turns out as nice as your 41, and your duece, I can't wait. Are you coming to the 50's? 25th picnic this year! g-willys
