I'm building a street rod roadster and want to use a mopar flat 6. I have an alum Edmonds head and edmonds 2 pot manifold. Also want a 23" plymouth or the larger 25" Chrysler/DeSota motor. Any help and advice is welcone. Thanks
I'll keep an eye out for you on this side of the country. I am contemplating something similar with an International Harvester flathead 6 but have to get my 1956 Plymouth on the road first.
Can be cool engines. Check out Edgy Speed Shop http://edgyspeedshop.com/ and Langdons Stovebolts http://stoveboltengineco.com/. Also Paul Curtis http://home.comcast.net/~tcb***/t5.html has an adapter for a T5 5 speed to the flatty. Also make sure you check out the P15-D24 site http://www430.pair.com/p15d24/mopar_forum/index.php?referrerid=1152 there is a ton of Mopar Flathead knowledge over there. If you go with the 23 inch block look for a 230 out of a later Plymouth or Dodge, the difference between it and the earlier 218 is very noticable performance wise. Check out Blueskies site http://50plymouth.com/ he does a good thread of the rebuild of his 230. Here is my new 230 in my 48 Plymouth Coupe.
