I just washed my '40 & will be there despite two rough fenders I've been working on. With some luck I'll be parked up on the knoll above the lake. I like the shade trees & the nice view from that elevation.

It's a shame that this meet is declining. We love the area. Is it the year change or the economy or we're all just getting older? Goodguy's Indy declined as well. They changed the location and it was a good show on Saturday. Friday and Sunday were pretty scarce. We'll see what happens this year.

I really don't himk it's the location. Plenty of room and easy to get to since construction finished. Economy I think has a lot to do with it and of course I feel the late models do too.

If they ever move it from Knoxville I'll just drop it and do Goodguys Nashville instead. I'm not financially equipped to do both shows so close together so it's one or the other for me. I'm 100 miles from Nashville and 300 from Knoxville.

The cost-benefit curve just does not work like it used to on these shows. I used to go every year, but I have not attended going on a decade. Goodguys Charlotte was a disappointment as well. Swap meet vendors have been shrinking, and the shows have become a obvious money grab for the organizers. Maybe their significant other thinks a slap in the face cons***utes foreplay, but not in my circle.

I think that I will just save my money and go to Bonneville.
    RIP NSRA.....

Agreed. I remember not even 10 years ago having 3500 cars. Down quite a bit the past couple years...but I'll be heading up after work Thursday and will be at the show Fri, Sat, and Sun as always. See y'all there!

Packed, loaded, fueled %@$&$$ and just waiting for the clock to strike 5 A.M. and I'm heading south down 23 to 81 to Strawberry Plains just outside Knoxville. The guys at Hudsons Rod Shop are prepping a '52 Panel for paint for me.

Then over to the Marriot to get my paperwork. Then the fun begins...:D

Fueled up this AM. Washed and half *** polished, shopped for some snacks and beverages then packed. Main group leaving at 8:00 AM and should be through to meet me about 8:30.

Wish me luck cause this is the True maiden voyage.

Everything will be fine, but a well stocked tool box and break down bag wouldn't hurt either...........:D

You should be ashamed of yourself living 15 minutes away.

Out of respect for those of us that are 3-4 hours away from anything you should at least drive 30 minutes north then turn around and head towards Knoxville.........................:D

Just drove through the Marriott on the way home, lot is full of some really nice rides. Most of them are old. Chance of showers next few days but no storms.

I went this morning. Got to talk to Poncho a bit. His old convertible looks great! That was time & $$$ well spent Steve! Glad you made the first BIG trip without incident.

Swap meet & car count was decent & about normal for early Friday. Those guys that come down from Ohio always make it worth the price of admission alone. Why is it that most every car that catches my eye is from Ohio?!?!?!?

Anyway, I had fun & got pre-registered for Shades of the Past. I can't wait to have my own car up & running. I'm coming back out there tomorrow morning.

It was really good to see you again Jim. Thanks for the compliments on the Poncho. She's about as sgood as she will get with my bank account:D, Just a driver.
Exhaust pipe from manifold had issues a couple times as well as the hood latch(Thanks Ronnie Green) but otherwise was a fun time.

    See you at Shades!
