I'm trying to find a rotor ****on for this distributor out of my 55 Ford. It has a 272 Y-block V-8 but I don't think the distributor matches. None of the rotor ****ons I've bought will fit. Maybe it's from a 6 cylinder? Any help? I'm DOA over a freakin $5 part....

    12127 is stamped on it.
    543 is below that.
There are letters in front but they're hardly identifiable.
First looks like E or F
    Second D, B, or P
    Last is 1 or L
(You can only see the tops of them!)
    THANK YOU!!

    Should read F_ _ 12127 _

    Like FDL 12127 _

The "L" does not come up anywhere so it has to be a different letter.

Most important is that I need the letter AFTER the 12127.

I can tell you that its a 1955 dizzy by the date code.April 3rd 1955

Isn't there a metal clip that goes on top of the dizzy shaft, that aligns and locks the rotor to the shaft? Dennis Carpenter has them.

As I recall the 55 dist took different cap and rotor than the 56 and up.
