I have one of their type writers. I'd be willing to trade for the car though.

That one has been moving about. I know where
THIS one is, though. My Dad owned it and I recently helped the new owner with serial number and history on it.
This is how it was when my Dad had it. Undergoing restoration again, now.

I used to own this car. I had found it when I was a teen up in Michigan and bought it 20 years later. It got sold to Blackhawk. They had it restored at the prison restoration shop in Arizona and then auctioned off to a buyer in Europe. If i am not mistaken oldtimerfan has been hunting this car because it used to belong to his father. Supposedly his father bought it from Adler in 1939 when it was retired from racing. towards the end of the war the car vanished. I'm not sure if oldtimerfan feels it was stolen and is now trying to locate the car to "claim" it again 65 years later.

Funny story.... When the old man I got it from had it someone had stolen the car and that's when it was in the gas station on Michigan avenue in the 70's. I actually have pictures of it at that gas station. When Ruben got the car back someone had stolen the eagle emblem from the grille. So Ruben went to Leo Adler Nissan Datsun on grand River in Detroit and got one of those metal dealer advertising badges that they used to screw to the back of your car that said "ADLER" and screwed it on to the grille. AFTER it was restored and while it was on the lawn at the Pebble Beach concours d elegance WITH the Adler nissan badge still on the grille!! lol

I remember that car well, and always wondered what happened to it. I grew up in Wayne Mi, and the car sat behind the Shell station at Michigan Ave and Newburg Rd. Back in the late 70s I stopped and inquired about it once, but it was "NOT FOR SALE". The station was on the corner northeast corner of the intersection and surrounded by Spitler Demmer Ford, (Now Jack Demmer Ford, what ever happened to Spitler?) I heard that Demmer wanted the car, and even offered to trade any new car on his lot, but the owner would not budge. That's when I knew that I couldn't afford it, (I think I was 16 or 17 at the time). I have told people about the car over the years, and there is not a lot of info about it out there. A few years back I found an example of it on the internet, that was in a museum in Germany I think. Well at least I had a photo of it to go with the story.
