This isn't about a 32 Ford, an old g***er or forgotten custom. This is about a 1939 Dodge 2 door sedan. My future father in law, Cory, has been a gear head all his life. He loves anything mechanical, from hot rods to sail boats, mining equipment to sprint cars. He bought this ol 39 Dodge from a friend quite a few years ago. His friend came home from the hospital as a new born in this car. Latter, as a teenager, it became his car. He souped it up, lowered the front, jacked up the back, etc. The word "BALL?" is painted on the screen of the cowl vent. As Cory says: "It means ****?". He said they would cruise around and when they saw girls they would flip that up, I suppose thinking that would land them a piece of tale. Cory never mentioned if that ever worked out for them... When Cory bought the car it looked identical to how it does now, with a few exceptions. It has a internally stock flathead 6 in it, and it had a Fenton split header on it already. A new Edmund's head was in the trunk. Cory eventually put a dual carb set up on it. The car runs great. Somewhere along the line the column shift was swamped out for a floor shift. Cory drives this ol sedan everywhere. He takes it on our annual flathead run, down to Bonneville, and everywhere else in between. He had big plans of putting a blown hemi in this thing, but I think I have him talked into keeping it just the way it is I figured you guys would like to see an old survivor, even if it is not your average coupe or roadster.
You my friend are a lucky man. You come from a car family and you are marrying into a car family. I have had to convert my family and my in laws. My kids have no choice. Mike
those cars have a funny looking nose, but that car works. i love the purposeful look of it. and the fact that it gets driven everywhere.
Jamie's dad is so much cooler then you....but it's tough to say if he's got the swagger of Big Daddy Dave Swenson. However his car is definitely a hot rod and that goes a long way! You should paint "dope" on your cowl vent screen.
What a rare beauty! Really dig the early MoPar lines. As mentioned family rodders all around is an ultimate hotrodders dream. Thanx for sharing bro. ~sololobo~
Who isn't cooler then me? I was gonna paint "dope" on mine, but then cops would think I'm a dealer...so it's gonna say "EPIC" now!!!
I think he's gonna leave it. It is such a sweet sounding engine, and with dual exhaust the exhaust note is spectacular!
Very cool Dodge sedan. Hahahaha And as far as the 4 spots, they only worked if you got a girl to sign them.
