I was taking a test drive in my recently aquired 55 olds 88 today, on a semi rural road my dads house sits on, and some ****head in a shiny new suv stole my hubcap.

I have the standard issue 55 olds hubcaps with the white center and they are dented from many errant deadblows at the tire shop. I wasn't going to use them, they are what my grandma would've liked on her car, which translates into offensive on mine. I rounded a corner, heard it come off at the left rear and watched it roll into the ditch (I was only doing 30). I drove on another 1/8th mile or so thinking I would come back and get it in a few minutes as I was playing with the carb and it wasn't running quite right. I turned around again and saw the guy who was tailing me stop and grab it. I thought he would stop when I stopped in my driveway which was another mile up the road but instead blew by me. Who the hell does this? Did this guy have a bad day? Was his wife in the car telling him what a wormy twit he was not having a car like that? Is he gonna put it on a chain around his neck? Man people are ***holes.

Well, you said it was kinda beat up. Maybe he figured you would leave it. You didn't stop or turn around, so.......

Reminds me of the scene in Dances With Wolves where Kevin Costner goes out on the buffalo hunt and his hat flys off. After the hunt they come back to camp and are eating their spoils. Costner looks up and sees an Indian wearing his hat and says, hey thats my hat. The Indian looks at him and tells him, well you must not have wanted it because you didn't go back when it blew off.

One day when I was driving on hwy 63 here I spotted a '55 Olds hubcap on the side of the road. I thought about stopping to get it but I figured that who ever lost it probably wanted it back. It was right around the same place that I lost a hubcap off of one of my shoeboxes a few years earlier. And to make things confusing, I once had a shoebox with '55 olds hubcaps and had it on a traler towing it (motor/trans were out) and lost two of the olds hubcaps off of it while it was on the trailer. Explain that.

complaining about a stolen hubcap on a traditional board won't generate much sympathy, few things more traditional than stealing hubcaps off an olds. lol

Weird. Today I was driving through Cuyahoga Falls and I saw hubcap fly off this old car. The driver saw it fly off and kept on going. I figured he didn't want it, so I pulled over and grabbed it. Gonna hang it in my garage.

  10. .... if I just knew where I left my oklahoma credit card, I could swipe enough gas to take a road trip and chase down that wall hanger.

wow, who does that? I drove a couple hundred miles from home in my highschool car (70 chevelle), yes it was a while ago... Ended up having a guy in a 70's vette trailing me through some twisty roads and later made a stop for gas and such. Well the guy in the vette introduced hisself and presented a trim ring I had lost off one of my wheels. He stopped to pick it up and had store it behind his seat till he caught up with me.

I had a cop stop me once in high school so he could return the muffler that fell off my 57 Belair

  17. Give him (her) the benifit of the doubt. Maybe they where doing something important while they where driving, like texting. :-( And didn't see it come off your car, or saw it come off but didn't see where you went?

He thought that you didn't stop so it must be fair game. What I can't believe is that you can't believe that someone would do that.

The SUV driver was a tool, but then again so is 60% of the general population.

I bet the guy who picked it up had an olds missing a cap at home. Fairly common occurence. Hell my brother lost a wire hubcap off a 79 olds and it was bolted on! :D So if anyone finds a wire hubcap for a 79 olds.........keep it we sold the car.
