A HAMB good deed brings a HUGE surprize

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by roadstar, Nov 29, 2003.

  1. Just got these in the mail today for helping out a HAMBer in need.

JUNKER here on the HAMB contacted me for some help with shipping an item he purchased from a guy that wouldn't ship to Canada. We had the seller ship the item to me and I in turn shipped it to him. A no brainer.
Well he ran in to the same problem again and once again the seller shipped to me, and I relabled the package, filled out a couple of forms, and off to Canada with the box of car parts. No big deal...happy to help.

Well to day I get home and there is a package for ME this time, from JUNKER in Canada.
Inside I find a check for all the shiping cost and a beautiful pair of what looks to be 50 Pontiac tail lites as a gift. I was floored! [IMG].

All I have to say is the HAMB is more than a place to share traditional hodrodding and other hotrod related topics for the most part [IMG].

I'm finding that the HAMB Has been people actually helping people online and off. And metting people from all over with common interest. This is much more than just a message board. It's a hotrod community and I'm happy to be part of it.

Oh yeah, here's the tailites. I hope to use them on a future project.

I too can only sing the praises of HAMBERS.

I emailed a HAMBER - Rocky Mountain Pits - when he posted that he had some Model A doors on ebay, saying that I'd like to buy them. Well he pulled them out of the auction, pulled the doors of the car, packed them up and sent them to a warehouse where they were to be shipped out to Australia!!! Trent I really appreciate your help mate!!!

HotRodLadyCruiser (Denise) has sent me stuff, many people hav emailed me with answers to my questions.....

Rudy, you excelled by sending me B'ville photos. I figure you are reaping the benefits of the Good Karma you send out with your acts of generosity for your fellow HAMBERS.

I was just thinking along the same lines. Me and Voodoo went to the Turkey Rod Run in Daytona on friday, and we saw someone on just about every other row that we had either met on the HAMB, or through the process of buying parts/going to swaps. A few years ago, I could just zip through a swapmeet. Now it's like a family reunion! It really is like a brotherhood of like minded people!

No worries, I wasn't using it. No rush either Maiki. Like a good friend of mine always says... "What goes around, comes around."

PS. It was a REALLY shitty peep mirror.

Seems this post has been hijacked and has taken a turn for the worst.

However, I would just like to say that HAMB comradery is a hell of lot better than the petty bitching that seems to plague this place from time to time.

Looks to me like you were the reciepient of some good CARma. GET IT! CARma! Thank you...I'll be here all week...try the veal it's fantastic.
