Where is a good place to look for rare speed equipment

I was hoping someone could tell where I should be looking to find a pair of SBC Fenton valve covers. I have been looking through craigslist and Ebay without success. I have had friends look through big swap meets in Hershey and North Carolina.

Are there rare speed equipment auctions, swap meets or does anyone know of anyone who has a pair? Where can I search to find a pair?

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

You can put a wanted ad on here in the classifieds? With over 100,000 members I'm sure someone has a set!!

Every month you should go to the long beach swap meet.

  4. Go to the swapmeets. Don't be afraid to wear a sign around your neck. You would be surprised on how many people will respond to your want ad. It always works for me when I need something scarce.

Ask ALLLL your local car buddies. And tell them to ask their buddies. You would be very surprised to find out what is actually right in your own neighborhood. I have been surprised many times to hear about a previously unknown car/part after it was already sold to somebody else.

I have placed an ad in the wanted section here a little over a month ago. Been hunting through Long Beach, Pomona for about a year. I have been trying to spread the word I am looking for them. I have not tried the sign around my neck. I will have to try that.

Anyone aware of an auction coming up that might have something like that?

Do you have a search saved on eBay? You can opt to have an email sent to you whenever something is listed you're looking for.

I've got one for 'Mopar 6x2' and they email me when they pop up from time to time, but usually the asking price is too rich for my blood. I'll kick myself forever for missing one for $300... :p

the "saved searches" on ebay works quite well. I get a bunch of emails everyday with my favorite search items in it. do a search for Fenton and then click save this search and you are done.

L.A. roadster show is about a month away. Wear a sign around that and I'm sure you'll get some action...

  20. Don't just do automatic searches with correctly spelled words. Save some automatic searches with misspelled words too. You'd be amazed with what might pop up and better yet, you might be the only guy to find it. :)

I have followed up on a few leads in addition to these but to no avail.
Does anyone else have any ideas where a pair might be lurking?

What would a pair of small block chevy Fenton Valve covers with the early staggered bolt pattern be worth?

I've had good luck walking around with a sign hanging around my neck front and back. I hit anything automotive, car shows, swap meets, races etc. You'd be amazed what you can buy or sell that way with free advertising.

He was my first call. he does not have any nor does he know of anyone.

    Gonna try this at LARS

Nothing here either. Charlie said he had not had enough interest in them to make them. He also did not have a set to copy.

You mind if I hit him up? Should I mention I know you or will mentioning get me no where??:eek:
