Voltage Reducers (12v to 6v)

    i was looking at a couple different voltage reducers and had some questions. does anyone know if the ones indicated for "gauges only"

    If they are made for each individual gage or for the cluster of them? Anyone find one at a local chain autoparts store or are they mail order only?

    Those are 1 per gauge. Instead of spending the money on those, I made my own, using the items in this thread.

    I bought 10 of the regulators, with heat sinks, on e-bay for about $8. I had wire and solder. Skipped the capacitors.

    They work like a charm!!!

    I used a a instrument voltage drop for a 64 Ford falcon. Only needed one for the whole cluster. Got it at a NAPA.

    Yes, just use the LM7806 IC voltage regulators. I use one on my 37 Chevy gas gage, works great.
