Canfield was good to me today. 32 tudor sedan dash . Guy said the car was chopped . Blown olds chromed Lasalle trans chromed rear end and a tuck n roll interior. And check out those decals and crazy smoke paint job !!!
Cool with the decals for sure. I guess I don't want to know what happened to the rest? Sounds like a dream car for me.
I talked to the guy at the Dunkirk New York swapmeet last year. I believe he has a shop somehwere around Akron Ohio. I thought he told us that the 32 sedan was out of Michigan from the late 50's and he was working on rebuilding it but the new owner wanted it updated so the good old parts had to go. I was surpised when I saw him at Canfield on Friday that he still had so much of it left.
The smoke was a cool deal in the late 50s. if those decals are real, that's a pretty valuable piece. Are you going to use it, or hang it?
dirk i could bring myself to take a grinder to it for any reason . i have it clamped in my 31 coupe right now it looks awesome but i will probably just use it as a gauge holder. on the wall. i am 100 % certain those are real stickers. fleetside canfield is a swapmeet in ohio . ill measure the small holes . one was an ignition switch for sure .
No easy way...HRM in those days gave pretty good coverage to regional and national drags. I would get hold of HRM's from those years and scrutinize all the drag coverage for that car, either making a run or lurking in a background. Read the results charts, go through the want ads, etc. They generally ran a list of cl*** and eliminator winners, and I think they charted NHRA records in the back of each issue then. Lots of places where you might hit a match or find the owner's name. In those instances in which HRM featured a car shot at the strip, the feature would be in an issue close to that date. I suspect there would be cl*** winner decals if the guy had won, so you are likely looking for pit and background views.
My 1959 Detroit entry book shows about 24 or so 32 Fords that were entered in 1959..if you could cross reference the names with that from 1960 Nationals, you might be able to "narrow" it down to who's it "might' have been. Rick ==========================================================
They would have been decals in 59/60 I believe. They don't look real to me. Looks like someone did a quickie on it. Hope you didn't pay too much. I am probably wrong.
well this is an odd one . went and looked at a 34 ford today in ohio . he has the chromed rear end out of the car and the ****** !! Said jack stewart owned the car . who did i buy the dash from ? Gene who owns the Polynesian now! real or not i think we are on to something. in your 59 listings 1939fiat is jack stewart listed?
