went to look at eight hemis a guy had advertised and found much more .little town in illinois called neponsit.these pics dont even begin to say whats in the two stories of the building.everything from horse drawn to 348 and 409 parts.
Funny you say that. I had a customers friend in the shop today taking pictures of "all the cool stuff". I put an end to that real quick. I would not want a buyer to post the pics, the description, the town where my stuff is on a public forum. Anyhow, cool stuff.
Bad practice, if someone took pics and posted if my place looked like that I'd be pissed. Especially giving the location.
Nice stuff, but agreed, not a smart plan posting all the info. I would edit it immediatly if not sooner. Nice stuff though.
That was the first thing I thought too. In this stupid world we live in today it is dangerous to advertise what one has. We have a firm rule a**** my Sons and I that no one visits our shop, even friends. It might not be them that is the problem but they might tell the wrong person about your stash. Don
he gave the town and the state, and pics of cool old rides that all of us here would like to see or own. maybe the owner gave permission to post location and pics and that would be fine. if he didnt, all he did was possibly increase the owners chance of getting door knockers and looky loo's. i agree with most here in that he should have posted the pics with the ***le small midwestern town and leave the owners location out of it. nobody is crucifying anyone.
cool pics---------good luck finding the place----------could be a broken down barn somewhere in that town
It's a town of 519 people according to the 2000 census. The OP did spell the name of the town wrong, so maybe that's his attempt at anonymity. I come from a similar sized town, and a stranger would only have to visit a local restaurant and ask 2 or three people "who has the barn full of old cars" to get an answer and location. It COULD cause some unwanted visits, or worse. Just keep in mind that old farmers don't sleep too soundly, and usually have a loaded gun close by.....
ebbsspeed made my point. shouldnt be too hard to find as there is probably antique tractor(s) sitting around nearby.
We have always had the same rule here with my sons and now it will be with their sons too. You can be here but that's it. It's not the friends as others have said it's that "friend of a friend" that is the problem. Cliff Ramsdell
