About 2 hours ago I got the dreaded "I'm okay and the baby's okay." call. My wife is in St. Louis right now. She, my kid and a friend of hers were pulling out into an intersection when some dirtbag decided he was going to run from the cops. My wife saw him coming and slammed on the brakes (she dosen't remember doing that) and the dirtbag t-boned a truck that was next to them. It threw the truck into the yard on the corner and thrwe the driver into the bed of the truck. My wife said the truck driver had to have been dead and the dirtbag didn't look to good. Total damage to her new impala: a scratch of blue paint on the bumper. Tammy was literally 5-6 ft from being killed with my baby in the back seat. So, be grateful for what you got!!!! If anybody in St. Louis happens to watch the news and this story hits, please record it and mail me the tape. Thanks.
It's amazng how in an instant life can be changed, for better or worse... I thank God there is every night for what I have. Glad to hear you and yours are alright.
when i first saw the topic i missed the almost part when i read it, glad it was only a missread topic and not what really happend. puh...
Happy to hear they are ok. I just watched the news on 2 channels and neither of em showed it. Sorry. Nick
So glad to hear they are OK. Just goes to show you how important it is to pay attention to everything around you when driving. So many folks just drive along, talking on the cell phone, eating a burger, & not paying any attention to anything else. I'm not kidding; I'm talking about a specific example of a guy talking on his cell while eating & steering with his knees! Good to have a wife that has a clue, huh? Lots of folks could learn from her! ~ Paul aka "Tha Driver" It's been so long since I've had sex, I can't remember who gets tied up.
damn, that's extremely bad luck to be in the middle of a high speed persuit. glad your family is ok. I have a cousin that was blown away by some punk in a highschool parking lot so you can't always think. "this will never happen to me"
Glad the outcome was good for your wife and kid. You could never replace either of them. Be sure to give them some extra attention when they get home. Frank
Very happy to hear that your family is safe. I always give my girlfriend a kiss before I go to bed, and when I leave the house, cuz you never know.
I am really glad your family is okay. You really do never know. A couple of years ago, I came upon an accident where someone had rear ended and totalled a couple of cars-and I realized one of them was my wife's. Nobody knew if she was okay-just that they had taken her to the hospital. I did not follow the speed limit getting there,I must confess. Didn't breathe either. Fortunately, she was okay-just a scalp wound. But you never know. Again, your prayers have been answered. Live each day like it's your last.
Thank goodness that your family is ok. Someone was watching over them. Hope the other innocent victims involved made it ok too. Prayers going out to the truck driver.
People that run from the law are not thinking of how they may kill or injure any of a hundred different innocent folks just trying to go about their business. It's sickening! Thank goodness your family is O.K..
In ten years as a Fire Captain and Paramedic I saw to much senseless death. Thank god your family is ok.
Thanks for the support guys. The accident was in Springfield, I guess I was so flustered I flaked out on the location. Heres a link to the story: http://www.kolr10.com/news/default.asp?mode=shownews&id=3394
Glad to hear your wife and kid are ok. Too much tragedy lately. I lost 2 friends in the last 3 days. My brother-in-law's best friend was killed in a logging accident (he was going to be the best man at another friend's wedding this Saturday), and a friend of my father's was T-boned in his vintage Triumph TR3 by a brain-dead fuckwit on a cell phone who ran a red light. Life's too damn short. Give your loved ones a hug.
SO glad to hear they are OK. I'm the same way, I NEVER leave her without givin and gettin a little smooch and a hug, cause they can be taken from this life way too easy! I worked as a tow truck driver for about 5 months, and I saw more blood and guts and brains and detached limbs than I care to remember. Half were drunk drivers, and it seemed like the other half was caused BY drunk drivers or fuckwads on their stupid ass cell phones. At one REALLY BAD wreck, on a dark and stormy night, I tripped and fell. When I looked back to see what I had tripped over, I saw what was left of the upper left side of this drunks torso! When I finished puking I got to pull what was left of his car, with the rest of him still in it, up the embankment so the coroner and fire/rescue guys could clean-up his mess. It's amazing the devastation 1 drunk in a Miata(I think?) can cause. The death toll of this ONE wreck was: 1 drunkin fool and a young family of 3 that he hit head on at aprox. 75MPH, on a 45MPH 2 lane road. It just goes to show, it can all end in the blink of an eye.
Alright everybody, the Mrs. and baby A made it home okay this afternoon @ 5pm. Tammy's still kinda skittish about driving though. She wants to thank everyone for the thought and prayers. Noe, on with the pics. First up, pics of the scene. Nothing gory and kinda hard to make out. The dirtbagmobile is the blue on the right of the tree and the truck is behind the tree. Next are pics of the Impala Tammy was driving. It's amazing that the only damage to the car was some light paint scratches!!! (Can somebody please resize these for me?)
