Has anyone used any of the new GPS modules coming out for your electronic speedometer?
I see Autometer is offering one for $199.00. I can't remember the other one, but I think it was around $250.00. Like most things electronic, prices are coming down.
I wondering if any of you have used either one. If so, who's? how easy was it to set up? How well does it work?

    Thanks- Sid

I have a Cl***ic Instruments Sky Drive...works great and eliminated the task of changing speedo gears and fiddling with the setup when I change tire sizes or rear end ratio.

Around $200 if memory serves correctly. I got one when they first came out so it's been awhile, price may have come down some.

I use a GPS speedometer on my LandSpeed Corvette. No monkeying around when you change gear ratios. The only trick is looking down to see the speed while running 190 + MPH on the salt flats.

My buddy used one on a trip we took. He said he would cruise at 55-60 mph. We started out at 65, then 70, then 75, just before we got off the freeway, we were doing 85. I asked him why he was going so fast. He said his GPS said 65. Ask him if he heard the news that morning. Solar storms were interfering with everything (LOL). I heard another ones on the way.

GPS speedometer? Traditional hot rodding? What is next? Nav. screens for your pre-war ride? I can see using a gps speedo as a tool to check your mechanical speedo's accuracy, but I kinda like the idea of lower tech when it comes to old cars.
