Grafting Model A Sedan Cowl & Doors to Coupe Quarters and Roof

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Richard D, May 11, 2012.

  1. So my buddy has this Model a sedan he wants to sell. I really don’t like sedans, but I know where some coupe quarter panels with roof sections are hanging on a wall in a barn. They are actually chopped, and the wheelwells are notched for axle clearance, so it must have been a hot rod long ago. Can I cut the *** end off the sedan and make a coupe?

is it a 28/29 or a 30/31? the 28/29 would be easeir to do as all of the cody panels including the doors are the same from the B pillar forward on a coupe and sedan. the 30/31 doors are slightly longer on a sedan than a coupe but if u wanted to do the extra work to do it you would just end up with a bout an inch and 3/4 longer interior over a normal 30/31 coupe.

  4. 30-’31. Don’t care for the ’28-’29. Picky *******, huh? If I can talk the guy out of the quarters(he doesn’t even know what they are, has had them twenty years, no interest in old cars, just thinks they look neat on the wall), I may try this.

Work on that guy and resurrect those quarters for a good cause!

  6. He wouldn't sell them last time I was over there, but I'll hit him up again when I have some cash to flash.
