Hey fellas, I'm in Ava for a few days visiting family. Are there any hot rodding events, cruise nights, car shows in the area this weekend? May 11-13...
In Nixa (just south of Springfield) there is a "cruise in" Saturday afternoon/evening at Cruisin' USA on hwy 14 between hwy 160 & 65. There is usually quite a few cars and even a band and music.
Not alot of other stuff going on that I know of this weekend, but if ya want to give me a call saturday or sunday I would be happy to meet ya somewhere and take ya around and show ya a few rodders around here and some of the cars in the area, kinda a traveling car show and tell! I don't know of much else really. I would see if you wanted to hang out or see some our local junk, but I got family events and graduations this weekend. If you want to go junkyardin', might hit the one in Cabool Saturday am. Just to the east of Ava and off hwy 60. Have fun! How long will you be here?
Man, that is such a generous offer thank you! I may take you up another trip out this way, as I have two graduations and a baby blessing to attend. The wife and I are going to stop in Nixa tomorrow afternoon on the way back from Springfield. Hopefully its not raining. I'll try Cabool, thanks for the tip!
I wound up running up to Pete & Jakes Open House today, instead of staying local and hitting the Nixa cruise night.
Missed Cabool, maybe next time. Nixa was great, but cops here must be heavy. Out west, when people leave a cruise night, most light 'em up or at least get on it good. Everyone there was real reserved pulling out like there was a cop waiting down the street. Maybe there was!
Nixa has a good turn out. There is a fairly decent salvage yard at Humansville about 35 mi. N. of Spfld. that is open till noon on Sat. I grew up in Branson. Spent 6 weeks in St. George,it is a nice area. Didnt get to do a lot since I was working, but I did wander around Snow Canyon a little one day. PM me if ya want or need something, I will try to help.
