Nice! I have been trying to find the second one for years since 'Rocky' had one.

  6. My friend made the pattern, I made a mold for lost wax, and had two cast in Sterling Silver. We cut up the mold and pattern. Sorry, no more.

My buddy is doing the wiring on his A coupe and i spotted this tonight. The tag inside says Feb 4 1963, it has a cool stamped wing with a green lense. The slot lets a rubber wheel stick through and an arm rubs it to self cancel.

Hey Doc is that high wing a Caribou?

  14. Grumbler that is indeed a DeHavilland Canada 'BooBoo. Man I loved those things and jumped from them on many occasions, almost cryed when they were retired!!

    Leaving a Caribou.

Thats awesome Doc although us engineers always wonder why anyone would jump out of a perfectly serviceable airplane ! [IMG] In the DeHavilland world I've worked and flown on the DHC-2 Beaver, DHC-3 Otter, DHC-6 Twin Otter, DHC-7 Dash 7, DHC-8 Dash 8. The 7 was my favourite. Elegant and tough as nails

love the chook shot....hueys were built to get shot down,,,but the chook is a god awfull version of horsepower overcoming gravity,,,nice photos....

  18. Thanks guy's, I took most of those pics while I was staff at the Army Parachute School at NAS Nowra or at Jervis Bay Range Facility(JBRF) where we did a lot of free fall (All the DHC3 pics were at JB).
Jumped out of DHC-2 Beaver, DHC-3 Otter and the DHC-6 Twin Otter. Man is it a rush!

Had a love affair with the Chooks, and loved doing AME with the Huey, man I miss it all.

    Doc.

EDIT: Perfectly Serviceable? You don't know the RAAF that well huh!!................

  23. That was A15-001 that went into Perseverance in 85. The ADF's very first Chook! The hulk is now at.....well it was...at Amberly as a training aid, used it a few times doing Aviation Medicine courses for crash-rescue training.
Here is a pic of it in Perseverance Dam, thanks to ADF-serials.com.

Not much tops Jim Halls wing things but here is my Chevrolet Viking hood ornament. The wings have been cut back to remove some damage.
