I'm Adam, I live in Bloomington Il. I'm the son of an old school hotrodder. I'm 35 with two kids and a wife. I make my living as a bicycle mechanic. Been doing it more on than off for 20 years.

I've always been into cars, but I'm more into bicycles. I've had a bunch of 80's 90's RWD Volvos that were a to of fun. I've mostly just kept beaters on the road and fiddled with them a bit. I love making things work better. Be it car, bike, motorcycle, or vacuum, if I can fix it or make it work better, I will.

So, here's my vehicle. I'm buying a 1977 GMC P15 step van. It does run! It's got a decent aluminum body, and it's just tall enough for me to stand in. It's got a 292 6cyl in it that has about 70,000 on it. It's got 140 on the body. The whole front suspension is clapped out and needs to be replaced. The motor is covered in oil and it gurgles oil out by the valve cover. It's got a single bbl on it.

I've got my work cut out for me, but it will be fun, and cool when I'm done.

I plan on using it as a work truck, and want to make it cool as well. I've been looking at offenhauser intakes and different carb. options. I want to keep the motor for now. Just freshen it up and get it running sweet.

I don't know if this is the right place for me, but I read some threads on the 292's and see that there is a lot of knowledge here. I hope I can learn from you guys.

    Cheers -Adam

    Hey, thanks everybody.

I do have a few bikes that are pre '64. :D

I'll have to get some pics of my bikes on here.

I'm about to get started on a 24" Schwinn three wheeler.

Here is my AMF Discoverer. I've had it for about 18 years. I put a set of wheels and tires on it a few years ago... It's a blast to ride.

    Hi, I'm back.

I was wondering if there is anyone n here that can help me with some info on my van. I'm trying to track down a front engine crossmember for a '77 1/2 ton GMC P-10 Value van.

The entire front end suspension is super rusted away and I have new upper and lower control arms that belong on the van. All the part numbers are the same as what belongs on a mid to late 70's 1/2 ton GM pickup but I'm not entirely sure that the crossmember is the same.

I'm looking for one but want to make sure I get the right part the first time.

If anyone here has any insight into this, I'd greatly appreciate any help I can get.

    Thanks -Adam
